Grabbing hold of the day!!

I was feeling empty but I will remember to be self responsible and that I am just waking and I have the chapel to prepare.

It’s kind of fun to come to chapel when it’s still dark out and be the only one…lighting all the votives, turning on the lights, ringing the bell in the tower and banging on the summoning board. Slowly the sisters are filtering in and we’ll start service in about 10 minutes.

grabbing hold of the day is the responsible thing to do, even on the days i have to fake it till i make it.

i adore the job of turning on those first electric lights and ringing in the day. "reveile" would be my personal favorite bell to ring on school days.

"it's time to get up
"it's time to get up
"it's time to get up this morning.

"another day is dawning
"it's time to move along
"though we might be yawning
"we still will sing this song

"it's time to get up
"it's time to get up
"it's time to get up this morning."

but i take time appreciate nature's night lights before i flip the electrical switches. her night lights are so subtle and gentle enough that few light lovers even know they exist. ya can't see them with a flashlight.

Sometimes, I like to arrive at church well before the service starts, when it's dimly-lit, quiet, and practically empty. It's when I feel the closest to God. Your description of early morning in the chapel reminded me of that. Thank you. : ) Hugs.

That's cool that you get to open up the chapel and light the candles. That must be peaceful. Have a good day Mark.
