got to make sense of this
i'm an inner space employee/warrior.
i find when I come home from being out, so often I'll sit down on the couch after all
that just happened and my mind and body will start disconnecting - or rather connecting and working
blindly in unison without me really taking ownership over of it.
i'll start feeling sadness, misery and whoa and i'll look for someone else - reaching out
to a friend or family member to console me in my misery...but I've noticed this now...
noticed how I have kind of made this exploration of inner space that I have taken on - and I realize
I have to (and want to) take on other commitments, as a kind of life's work to look to when I come home
to be alone.
I'm doing pretty well I think. I have seen my work as potentially living and doing godly work
at the monastery...but seeing that endeavor for what it is, what my perspective was when
considering it, using that same kind of perspective now - I see my choices ...in a kind of objective
way in front of me...in the kind of commitment I want to make to what kind of work.

There was a piece of detritus on my screen which made "inner" appear as "inher." Hm-m-m-m. . . For a minute I thought you were going to reveal a new and unexpected piece of yourself. . .
I have an uncle who used to be one of those priests you see on the cover of Newsweek. A radical who took his protest jail record as notches on his proverbial gun belt. He left his order (took a nun with him when he left) so that he could better do God's work outside the cloister. His voice popped into my head as you spoke of joining a monastery to do Godly Work. He and his wife both solidly believe they do far more Godly Work from the pews and trenches than they were ever able to do from the behind the pulpit. They both remain lovingly loyal to the church. I worked the New Orleans Katrina clean up with him and his work was/is a wonder to behold.
But that isn't you. Continued support as you find the best path for the unique person you are.
I'm still indulging irreverent wonder about Inher Space. . . I can resist anything but temptation.
Mark, I can only speak for myself...I too feel exhausted and disconnected when returning home...I know I need to be sociable, yet don't want to be...like you, I think, you know what you need, how to get yourself what you need...A Good Thing!!!
Had to smile when you wrote you worked at a Monastery, My Uncle Louis Was a Jesuit Priest, and was at the MA Monestary...prievously he was at RI, but when that burned down he went to MA.
My best to you Mark!! Find that smile for yourself that you share with so many others :)
thank you so much guys! peace to you!! you rock!
