got internet as of a few minutes ago....YAY!

when it rains it pours.....reminds me of the little girl holding an umbrella on the Morton Salt Container.....

not long after my phones/internet were back up they were gone.......within a couple of hours.  checked on things and whaddya know, Rio had chewed through the green DSL cord.......crazy little bugger!  he is probably going to end up in cat hell if i don't call for some kind of intervention or religious conversion.......i said, "Rio, if you wanna cross the rainbow bridge someday you gotta knock off the destructive path you're on, computer cords are not CHEW TOYS.......and then I thought I gotta quit talking to my cats outloud......nobody wants to be the crazy cat lady.......just the lady who is crazy about her pets more like.

but rio is still not completely forgiven, see today while the tech was here doing the repair Rio sat right by the tech as she worked acting all INNOCENT........once she saw Rio's chew job....which more than likely sparked him a bit.....YIKES! ....the tech, a nice lady named Dodi broke out the electrical tape & started wrapping the new cord pre-installation.  happy to be connected again, it was a long week without phone/internet........huli - netflix.  caught up on Reader's Digest & Guideposts though........lol!

thanks for the kind words and for checking in on me.......that same day.....the first day after the storm i was outside checking things out......and suddenly felt something hit...a quick blast of itchiness in my throat...that turned into the beeping death crud.  sinus pain, coughing, sneezing, hard to sleep without sitting up & then only for an hour at a time........today i am turning a corner, it's not over, but it's improving.  good.......so glad!

decided to press on with clean up later that same day, carried the yellow patio umbrella outside, slid it into the table  hole, then aimed it at the umbrella stand below........the table cracked into hundreds of glass shards.  WHYYYYYYYYYYYY?  stared in disbelief, considered crying......then thought clean it up now - cry later.  couldn't do both....not enough energy.

i would sweep a load of glass shards onto a wide dust bin, toss it into a trash can & then sit.  this process takes longer than one would like.....ever.  that glass was heavy.........took time to drag table pieces to the curb.  the metal table frame, the base....not heavy, just awkward....had a tall planter cracked & busted ......didn't see that until a day or two after the storm.......right now i'm trying to get a guy over here to cut up a tree.  if i didn't mention that before i have a big evergreen by the back patio that has to be cut up and disposed of.  james is trying to get adam over here today as my little village is sending trucks to pick up downed tree pieces/broken stuff tomorrow.

what i didn't know until yesterday is that bruce resigned from his new job to take an even better job.  he had been trying to reach me but i was clueless....between being sick and not remembering how to retrieve messages on my cell phone i didn't realize he'd checked on me, which was just so kind........he's a really good person that Bruce!

he called me from Birmingham Alabama where he is training as an insurance adjustor, much better benefits/pay --- so happy for him!

but that means he'll be training - then he'll probably be dispatched to a storm impacted site for anywhere from 30 to 60 days somewhere in the southeast.......asked if i should get someone else to handle my yard for the next by and by - he said to hold up he'd let me know........ok, no problem.  i can do that!

turns out Sam's car was having big problems, which turned into even bigger problems so he was very stressed out.......car troubles are never a happy situation.

in the meanwhile i also need to confirm if sam can escort me to the 40th Anniversary Celebration at AEE during the International Awards Dinner at the Georgia World Congress Center next Wednesday.  I really hope so......but we'll see.

in the meanwhile the Owls Luncheon is Wednesday, followed by Bible Study that evening at 7 pm.  .....hope to go to one or both!

sending out a lotta love your way.........sorry for being MIA!  love, love, love.........love, love, love!  hugs!

Ruthie, hate that Rio cut your "humbilical" (my made up word) cord, but glad you are back online now. Hope Bruce enjoys his new job & Sam gets his car problems squared away soon. Also that you can go to the event next Wednesday.

I too have been experiencing a lot of pouring rain here. Seems like every time a doctor has me try a new med I have to discontinue it. The last one put me out of commission for almost a week.

Loved your comment about the girl on the Morton Salt Container. I guess that just shows our ages.

Hugs....Bear

Ha ha.So are you long legged Ruthie blue eyes from Georgia or really.... the crazy cat lady.?? Are you keeping secrets from me. lol! Oh dear. This flu is sending me mental. No comments now lol!
I don't know about the chic and the salt container ?? OK I'll google it . I am from the land down under afterall. Gidday mate !
Hey Ruthie...sounds like you caught my flu. Must be a techy new age kind of flu. OK...I will just be my NORMAL ? self. Need to get serious here. Hang on.... gotta go back and read your journal again. My poor cfs brain lost its elastic.
Sorry about your table. Proud of you the way you handled it. Pity about the big evergreen. Not something you can replace quickly. Bruce is a honey. He has been a blessing for you. Good honest guy. My dad's name was Maxwell Bruce and everyone called him Bruce. Very important info here lol!
I'm sure Sam will get the car problem sorted. We gave our Subaru to our daughter and now it has just too many things wrong with it. We were quoted $5, 000 to fix it. Anyway that's not happening. Big problem to work on. She has the baby and now no car. Blah blah...long story wrong time

I hope you make it to the luncheon, the Bible study, and the big doo too dear Ruthie. I'm not doing anything much. Frank is having more surgery this Thursday. Having an artificial urinary sphincter implanted. What a year it has been. Nothing has gone to plan. Oh well...it's all good. So many things are good. Have to count all our little blessings. Much love dear Ruthie xoxo

Ruthie, I don't think Rio understands how much you need your phone and internet to stay connected to the outside world. All he thought was "mmmm....this is tasty and feels good on my teeth." No thought of what Cat Mom needed. Silly boy! I'm glad you are finally back online and able to keep in touch again. We had a terrible storm here in July and we are still finding damage to our trees. This weather has been crazy. I can only imagine what the poor folks in the Caribbean are dealing with from all the hurricanes. I'm praying plenty but wish I could do more.
I'm glad Bruce is finding steady work. He's been a real treasure and if he can't continue to help you, I pray you find someone else who is just as caring.
