Got a present

I got a package from my stepdad today. He sent me a bunch of vitamins that he can't take anymore (react with his meds, or just not good for men) and a check for $100! He knew I was low on money so he sent me some. He's such a sweet man. He's always taken care of me, ever since I met him at age 4. When my dad died, he took care of me. When he and my mom separated (they never married) he still took care of me and my brother. My brother rents one of his houses, and he sends me money when I need it. When I was in college, I was broke and having trouble getting money for food, and he would show up at the door with bags of groceries. I've never had to ask him for anything, he just willingly gives it.
My mom is in the hospital. They don't know what's wrong with her... she has a lot of swelling in her legs and so they are running all these tests. I don't think it's anything major, but they just want to be sure. Tracy, her husband, is there with her. He's taking time off of work to be with her. I know he will take good care of her. I'm not worried until I know there is something to worry about. She claims to be feeling normal, so that's one of the reasons I'm not worried. I do go to therapy tomorrow, so it's something I can talk to her about. I just talked to my brother and he's saying that there's fluid around her heart. That's not a good thing. *sigh* Now there's reason to worry. I hope I can sleep tonight... they ran a bunch of tests and she will find out tomorrow. She says she doesn't feel sick at all, so she thinks she will be out tomorrow.

your step dad sounds like a great guy and someone who knows how to be a parent and a FRIEND without the government making them do it. you are very lucky!

best of luck to your mom with her appointment.

Take it one test at a time. Let us know what is going on. Maybe, it is just an allergic reaction to something. I hope all tests give you good news.
