Gossamer Lights?
One of the quieter mysteries in my broken life is the light show which is in continual motion in front of my visual perception. I have attempted to discuss ^it^ with a wide range of medical specialists and backed off as soon as I heard mumbled tones of theoretical chaos. I have opened up to those theories with the specialists who were brave enough to answer simply, "I don't know."
I havenae kept track, but I believe I have most often called this light show, "The curtain" in my therapy journals. The speckled glimmers of sheer window curtains is the most comfortable analogy I have found for ^it^. I can see well through them, but their gentle shifting is always there. I'll save the descriptions of what happens to those sheer curtains during a trauma flashback for a more courageous moment.
I am continually amazed at what is commonly called, "Darkness." The gentle light sources of night are everywhere and? ? ? How can you call them, "Darkness?" Why are you masking them with your artificial lights? You are missing one hell of a light show! ! !
Never mind, my brighty brite. . . May you forever be the brightest bulb on the block.
I call those gentle night lights, "Gossamer Lights." The flicker of a Lamp Ass (lightening bug). The glimmer of a reflection in the grass. Etcetera, etceteri, ad infinitum. . . I love the gossamer lights of night. They are even more glorious than the rainbow glimmers of sunlight on a spiderweb.
Rambling here. . . To where I donae care to know. . . The fact I set out to record is that more and more, I am calling, "The Curtain" "The Gossamer Lights." It is okay if ^it^ is all in my head. Guess where I keep my eyes. . . 'Tis a right handy storage spot.

I don’t believe it is all in your head arfie. I forget what it is called, but there is a condition where people see light and colors and actually smell or taste things when they see them sometimes. Perhaps you have it to a lesser degree and it manifest as lights. And dark. Anywho, triple hugs and extra squishy support on this difficult day of loss. Xo
It sounds like one of the theories on the plate called, Synesthesia. Theories on psychosomatic manifestations resonate closer to my internal sense of ^it^. Since no one knows for certain, think I'll just let the mystery be.
The theories which resonate most clearly with my internal senses are coming out of light engineering camps. Humanity has far, far, far more vocabulary for metaphorical light than physical light. Those theories will make a nerd's eyes glaze over. . . They are even nerdier than pi.

Would this be like the 'aura' some experience prior to a seizure....John's father had an 'aura' sometimes he'd catch himself and sometimes not based on the warning aura.

sometimes when I stand up too quickly I get stars before my eyes. Happens every once in a while.
No known seizures involved, ML. Not even *I* get *ALL* the problems. Prayers both needed and appreciated.
The docs I've talked to call those "floaters." As I understand, they are typically caused by low oxygen levels. When I am underweight, I get them allot, but they go away after my oxygen levels are restored.
