Good news I think

Think we just received good news over the weekend.  Oldest GD age 14 wants to spend this weekend with us.  So we made arrangements for that.  However, my hesitating is that I also wanted to make plans to see the other 2 older children but was told not to ask now.  Of course ES isn't having any contact but she says it is ok with him that she come to us.  Because of the actions of ES, I am concerned if this is just a way to get the presents for all of them, find out info or some thing else.  However, as DH tells me, just sit back, relax and enjoy our time together.  We never know when and if we will see any of them.  So I am trying to look at it as a blessing.  I am just leery but blessed.  Of course we are moving right now so everything will still be a mess by the weekend but we will be at the new place.

It\'s called paranoid because of what we\'ve been put thru! I\'d feel just like you. I agree with Blue, we\'ll keep praying and also with your DH that you will relax and enjoy the time together. ((((BIG HUGS)))) I\'m very happy for you.

I understand your feelings completely - and your DH\'s comments are exactly what my husband would have said. I think we women sometimes think too deep about things.

Maybe when you give your GD her present, ask her if her parents told her to bring her siblings presents back with her when she returns home.

I understand your feeling of being guarded. I would feel the same way. Rejoice in the fact that she can come and see you and just immerse yourself with her. Maybe keep the family talk light. Who will bring her/drop her off?

Thanks so much for your concern, support and advice. We will be picking her up after school and then dropping her off at her door step. Ii am sure she will tell us that she can go in by herself. I just hate all of this and worse is that none of us truly understand it. What a big difference from last Christmas. But I will rejoice in the Lord and be glad.

I hope and pray that your GD\'s visit goes well. I pray that you are able to have some good interaction with her, that is healing to your heart. I hope that there are no ulterior motives, that she genuinely wants to spend some quality time with you. I also had a Christmas miracle; my ES and DIL shocked me by accepting my invitation to attend my church\'s Christmas morning service with myself and my older son, AND they invited myself and my other son to come to their house for breakfast!! This eases an ache for Christmas day itself, for which I am grateful, and I know it is a blessing from God. But like you, I am worried as well, wondering if this means my DIL\'s heart has softened; and also worrying if I will be able to play it just right, if I can be kind and in the present. I worry about offending DIL in some way, without being aware of it, and then suffering the consequences. It is just awful to feel as if you are in a large field full of hidden land mines, and worrying terribly about stepping on a hidden land mine, and it all blowing up in your face. It\'s a terrible way to live. Know that we care about you, and are praying for you. I just pray that God will work a miracle during the weekend, with some genuinely good time together with your GD. Hugs to you.
