Going to focus on what I can control
I've been sent to Oklahoma to serve as priest for a while. Not my choice.
I'm giving it a week, Holy Week. I'm coming to another understanding today though. I've been mentally going back and forth about observations of structures and patterns and passions within myself and others. I've been thinking about both sides in hermetically sealed off worlds from each other. I literally thought I don't know how people cope with the complexities of life. That question though shed some light on my distinctions of thinking either or.
Some things we commit to we will like sometimes and not others. Sometimes we'll wish we had more control over our commitments and our lives. What I've realized is that none of us has all overarching control. My focal point to continue to be constructive and have an impact on the world that I'm in will be to focus on the things I can control in my life. It won't be a sunny pure feeling much of the time but my drive and motivation to have a positive impact will outweigh those cringing feelings which might have at some point derailed my positive move forward.

There’s a strange kind of peace that comes when you stop trying to untangle every knot when you let some of them just be. Maybe the point isn’t to make life less complicated, but to let the complexity shape us without letting it consume us. What you said about choosing to show up and make an impact, even when the feeling isn’t there that really stuck with me. It’s like walking into the wind, knowing it might never stop blowing, but you keep walking anyway. That’s not weakness.
I don’t believe in God, but I do believe in the human mind. You have to live for something, and if you don't then you live for nothing
Thanks Everyoffyou!!
malibumark no problem, So are you a Catholic priest?
Greek Orthodox
It sounds like those above you feel you are ready for this otherwise you would not have been sent. It's a higher level of responsibility, I am sure but one you can handle with a clear mind. Focus on the positive. You've got this!
Thanks Bob!
I know that simply letting go and letting God can be a hard thig to grasp and do at times
Working towards this step though could be good for healing...xo
Thanks Janet!
