Getting Through
We are in Ottawa for Christmas - before Lisa died, I would have said we are celebrating. But for me it is memories and trying to put on a smiley face for Cevyn.
Joe and I and a neighbour who loved Lisa went to the cemetery and lit a candle. I also gave her a gift - a dollar store tiara. She loved wearing tiaras to cheer people up. I thought she could use a new one. We all had a cry and came back for fondue.
This morning we opened gifts. It was bittersweet - I loved the look on Cevyn's face when she opened her gift from us - two brand new $50 bills - along with little things like nail polish etc.
It was worth coming here to be with Cevyn and to visit Lisa's grave.
Now to brave the mob this afternoon. Beth's family is coming - we will have about 15 people.
Joe and I are going to visit Lisa again before people arrive - it is 2 k walk from here.
Lisa: I miss you so much and love you forever. I can imagine you entertaining everyone in Heaven today.
I am thinking of all the moms who are getting through this day the best we can.

Gentle ((hugs)) shared with you.
May comfort and joy be yours.

I too got to spend time this Christmas morning with my gradaughter. It was worth the heartache of missing my son, just to get that hug from her. Thinking of you...hugs, Debbie
Thinking of you, too - hope the day was a gentle and peaceful one for you and Joe. Take care ~ Joanna
