Gave my first injection yesterday (to Geo)
Geo is on a blood thinner and it comes in a syringe and I have to give it twice a day for 2 weeks. I did it to him because we can't afford a nurse to come twice a day for a simple injection. I learned the right way to do it and he's doing well. He came out of surgery well and is getting along at home. He only spent one day in the hospital and he's learning to do things for himself, like getting out of bed. it's hard, but he has Vicodin. I'm upset with his family... his mom drove him to the hospital and left, his dad was there until he Geo got into the OR and it was just me there the whole time. He spent 6 hours in the recovery room because he didn't have a room. They brought in a cot for me to sleep next to him. I walked with him in the hospital as he did his walking and holding his hand. I broke down yesterday from all the pressure. His aunt came down to help out, and so far nothing. I had to go all over the city on the bus to get his shots. I was exhausted. His family is supposed to be helping but they are not. My mom is coming down tomorrow and is going to do what HIS family should be doing, helping me get things, cook, clean, stuff like that. I did make some "me" time today- Lisa and I went for a pedicure. it was nice to be out and doing normal stuff. Anyway, I'm going to go to bed early tonight... I'm still really tired from the lack of good sleep for the past week.

what a shame about geos family, it is sad that ones family does not support or care enough to help when in need. it is a hard pill to swallow but there is no changing those people. so happy your mom is coming, you need the extra help. great for you on the pedicure!
I am glad Geo is doing well after the surgery. Have you asked Geo\'s family for specific help such as could you take me to get the meds today or whatever it is you need help with? It must be disturbing to have such selfish relations. Hang in there!
Big hugs! I\'m sorry that you\'re having to carry the entire load. That\'s great that Geo is doing well overall. I\'ve given my hubby both shots and infusions, so I know how scary it can be initially. Sounds like you\'re doing a good job!
wish i was you, i would LOVE a pedicure! have to do that soon!
Glad geo is okay after surgery! my prayers are with both of you. so sorry you don\'t have more help. what about a home health aide? i think they are covered by medicare/medicaid?
hope all goes well with his recovery! xxoo
Happy that Geo is doing well. I agree it\'s awful that his family isn\'t there to help .. Maybe you should try to ask for specific help. Hope you do well to. Nice that you got out with Lisa for a pedicure. That always relaxes me I hope it helped with your stress level.
