Frustrated with Mayo
I don't know why I get surprised anymore when I'm dealing with the people at Mayo. They have been nothing short of disrespectful since I started interacting with them. It just continues. I'm so frustrated and hurt I can't do anything but cry.
The staff was rude to me from the start. Basically, I was accused of lying from the very first conversation and while the person tried to back pedel, she made it sound like they wouldn't see me if I couldn't prove that I had Celiac disease. I don't know what I have! That is what I want a doctor to be able to tell me. Celiac disease seems to fit MOST of my symptoms very, very well, but I know that more is going on with me. After cutting out gluten, I felt better for a while then kept getting sick. I cut out corn. That worked for a while, but I'm back to getting sick agin. I want some help! The other doctors I've seen have been awful. They all like to run one test (usually the same test), find that it is negative (surprise, surpise), blame me for my problems.
I deserve better!
The doc at Mayo decided I ddin't have Celiac's disease and won't see me. "The best [they] can do" is let me see someone in the Motility group. I've been down that route with other doctors who found nothing!!!!!!! Really, that is the best they can do!?!
I've done a review of the doctors and 1/3 do not get good reviews from past patients, 1/3 get pretty good reviews, and 1/3 I haven't found reviews for yet. The idea that the Mayo docs are all wonderfully understanding people that really want to find out what is wrong with you is utter bunk!
The latest communication from Mayo also clearly sent the message "we are more concerned about your money than you!" There sceduling dept was supposed to send out prelimary information about the visit. It contained nothing but forms for them to be able to bill the insurance company. There was no information about whick doctor(s) I'd be seeing, what the dates of the visit would be, how many days I'd need to be there, if tests were going to be run, etc. None of that! Just make sure we can bill you!!!!!!!! And to boot, they miss spelled my name all over the form!
I am so angry right now.
