From here on.....part 2

Well we've had no real change since the last journal entry except I have been referred to a vascular specialist to have a permanent picc line fitted as the lack of peripheral veins is having a detrimental affect on my health now. Today I had the first of 3 scans/tests needed to be able to get treatment. It was an MRI scan and I'm terrible claustrophobic. They gave me sedatives but they may as well have been sugar pills. They had me laid down on the suffocating table then strapped my head into something I can only assume was a relic from the ancient Saxons. At that point I burst into tears and shook like a leaf for the entire 40 minutes. At least the brain scan is over now though. Just have an echocardiogram and another (sedated) MRI scan on my chest and abdomen. Unfortunately my wonderful GP who knows everything is going on holiday for 3 weeks now and I have to go to the surgery so we can all have a meeting to continue my daily care with another gp until mine comes back. I'm terrified and can only hope the doctor covering her actually listens to what my gp tries to explain and takes it seriously as the cardiac effusion I have is enormous and putting my heart under serious strain. I'm having really bad chest pains too now. All we can hope for is that I can stay relatively stable whilst my GP is away. Looking at the last few weeks though. Trying to remain positive is as tiring as the illness themselves. Sorry for any spelling errors bit it's 5.30 am here and still not slept. Yuck!!!
