friday.....august. weird.

Hello,
well let's see.......i made doctor appts. yesterday.  gonna have lab work done and get scripts refilled and all that jazz.  both appts are closer to the end of the month.  gearing up for them now.  good girl.
ordered some sheers on sale from jcp.com.  with their 90" length they will puddle a bit on the floor, but i am told that is stylish.......around here, it will be kitty entertainment i am sure.
the trash pick up guys keep leaving my trash receptacle on the road in the middle of the drive.......yup, there it is, a perfect target for my car to run into.  naughty!  with the lid open to catch the rain and then sit there and get shmelly.  double naughty.  sigh.  i don't want to be the cranky ol broad on the block.   did call finally a while back.
talked to the nicest lady at the trash picking up place.......she has arthritis challenges......i told her that i didn't want to be a mean old cranky pants person, just wanted to request that they put the container on the grass, not the driveway or the road.
currently i have to back down the driveway,  stop, get out of the car and move it so i can leave.  tons of room to put it in a place to make life easier...........so i asked if they could be a pal to a slow mo lady and despite the absolutely yes response........so far that would be a noooooooooo.  sigh.  that is my gripe of the day. someone stole my recycling bin, so i guess that can be gripe number two.
since i am home a lot, what an understatement........i've discovered that moving pictures and or favorite objects around to different surfaces can lift my spirits.  i don't do it a lot, just every now and again.  it helps change up the view.......reminds me to appreciate my favorite things.
it's nice, calming and lends to a more contented atmosphere.  makes old things become fresh --- reminds me to appreciate them........we all need and want that........to be remembered with pride and excitement and appreciated right?  i took my santa barbara girl silk framed print and put it on the mantel......remembered the excitement i felt buying it at an auction estate sale.  it's a very small print, 4" by 6"......i was 18 or 19.......
the santa barbara girl is perched on a stool........old fashioned clothing.......Victorian era.  blond hair......soft and lovely.  the story behind these small hand painted silk prints?  back during war-time cigarette manufacturers use to put these prints in cigarette packs to cheer up the soldiers.  they are not racy or pin up ish at all, they are just very pretty.  i feel an affinity with that santa barbara girl, the time i lived in that city..........just one thing i moved and it is nice to enjoy it anew..  swapped the picture over the fireplace from peonies........3 peonies in varying stages of blossoming to a picture of a water view.......trees at the water's edge........very peaceful.  do ya'll do this?  interchange your interior view and does it help you?
not talking about massive changes, but little things we can do to help protect the spirit when we are homebound a lot.
exhaustion wave just hit........need to take a shower, dress and try to stay awake.  bruce is coming to mow and do a couple of little chores for me today.  hang in there........rats, forgot to take meat out of the freezer.
OH>>>>>>>I did the weirdest thing the other day.  I had a pkg of ground beef......wanted to make some dinner.  I took a pot, filled half way with water, put it on to boil and then dropped the ground beef in it.  WHAT was i doing?  I've never done that before...................was I thinking of making rice or ? and got confused?  who knows.......well since it was already in the water i let it be.  i broke the meat a part and let it cook and then drained it in the colander.  It was very tasty........so now i'm wondering if people do that?  boil their ground beef and i'm the only one who ever did or did not do this before.  mercy, brain fog can be very inventive if we let it........peace out.  hugs, ruthiebird.

Hi Sparrow!

What a good idea to re-arrange stuffs around the house!! It is good to have a different view from time to time. I can surely change around pictures on the wall, or on the dresser! I love to change the bedspread and put clean sheets on. It\'s the lil things, ya know. I\'m also wondering if the word re-arrange (rearrange) is supposed to be hyphenated or not? Looks stupid either way.....Hmmmmmmmmmmm!

Whelp, you could have been thinking that you were going to defrost your meat! Was it still frozen and maybe you were actually headed to the microwave. The water could have been boiling for noodles or potatoes!! I put a package of Pennsylvania Dutch noodles (that belong in the pantry) into my freezer last month! Hubby had to ask me exactly WHY I had done that. I had no recollection of doing it! Um, whatever. I also have placed my Sunday paper in the freezer! I like the freezer. I have not yet tried to boil it. I\'ll let ya know! LOL

Glad you made your doctors\' appts. and got new sheers! It\'s normal people stuff that we so delight it being able to do! Right?

You have a good weekend, Sparrow~~!

.I boil ground turkey and add vegetables and then cook ( sort of sautee) it in a small amount of olive oil. The pans are easier to clean.
Rearranging things is a boost. I often rearrange the contents of my mind!

oh dear, you are one courageous lady buying those sheers with a adolescent cat around LOL.
lately I find I use the lupus card when I need to \"complain\" about something or fear they will seem me as a mean old lady. I find it does help people to see it as a real need I have and that they can help me out with one small task, like your trash can. I think you were totally right to call and should call again! Maybe a note on the lid \"hi I\'m unwell and it would really help me if you could place me in the grass thank you.\" lol

I like your idea of moving your treasures around in your room. I have a girlfriend who rearranges her furniture constantly and I never do, but I think it\'s a good idea. I usually find my things just go in a certain place and hardly move them, but now I am reconsidering. : )

the ground beef story is hilarious. I\'m surprised it was so good ... did it break apart on it \'s own? I hate breaking ground beef apart with a fork or spatula so if it broke apart, I\'m in for trying it.
sounds like a good soup starter too. easy as pie.
thanks for all of your hugs and lovely encouraging words. they are really helping me. how\'s your kitty? mine is bad, bad, bad, bad. doing everything he should not! all I can do is yell \"NO!\" and I can\'t get up and rush over and grab him or spray him with water. oh dear, I fear I am training up some bad precedents here that I can\'t fix when my foot is better b/c he\'ll be too old then. sigh.
