Freedom is nothing else to lose.

As I have written before I left my wife almost 4 years ago. She stayed in what was my house and every time I saw her it was the same story, no communication, just arguing and and throwing blame. I talked to her family, telling them she needed help but no one came. Last July she passed away. Her daughter and my sister came to help me clean the house and to help me with other things (I still have lung cancer and I really need someone to help, but there is nobody). My sister started complaining about how she was always left out of everything and went home without saying anything to me. My wife's daughter did no cleaning except for cleaning anything valuable out of  the house, shipped it to herself in Florida and left my house looking like a crime scene (it was). Her other daughter, who has been nothing but trouble to me since I've known her, wants to come and live with me. I barely get by on Social Security and live in a small apartment which would raise my rent if someone else is living here. In short I would be miserable if she was around so I have just stopped talking to her.
This is a long story spanning many years so I can't cover it all now. The situation I find myself now is that my only sister has disowned me. I have talked to my only other relatives, an aunt and 4 cousins, and I can tell from their remarks that my brother (who is also passed) and sister have told them some real garbage about me and really laid it on thick. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
The net result of all these years of soap opera drama for me is that now I am alone. No wife, no family, I have a few close friends that I can depend on and I am thankful for them but they are mostly old and sick like me but we help each other when we can.
I would love to meet a woman who would be my friend and companion and be able to communicate as adults and not like a bunch of screaming children. That is my dream but I am 63 years old, have cancer, and I wouldn't want someone to fall in love with me and then die on them. But then none of us knows how long we have and real love is worth having even if for only a short time.
