Freedom From Anticoagulant?
So... As of November 1, I have been off of my Eliquis. My sister treated me to dinner and a rather large Bloody Mary, lol...
At any rate, I am nervous to be off of the anticoagulant, but not as much as I had thought I would be. My schoolwork has truly been awesome in that respect. I have a goal, which really helps.
I've been working as a student nurse/home health aide on weekends, etc. The work is both challenging and interesting, and I love being able to help people in their journey to recovery. I will never forget how helpless I felt when I had the hysterectomy, then PE right after, and I will always use that experience to put myself in the patient's shoes and provide for their needs, whether it's a physical task they need help with, or just being an ear for them. So many people just want someone to truly listen.
I have a few days' break before I go back to class, and am relived to say that I passed both finals, and have a "B" in each class for the first level. Not bad, but I would love to have "A's" in the next two levels. I can try at least! Next level we will have Med/Surg and Maternity/Pediatrics. I'm sure it will be fascinating and challenging.
Anyway, back to the cessation of Eliquis... I'm wondering if that had anything to do with the weird thirst/urination symptoms I had been experienceing, as it seems to not be as pronounced. I see the endocrinologist this month, and I have a pulmonary function test, so we'll see.
Here's to no more clots - ever!
