fowl play

Sigh.  I knew better. After all, I've been around farm animals my whole life.  I just wasn't thinking.  CFS, I guess.  I told Tim about the episode over the phone last night and he really guffawed at me.
When I went out to tend to the chickens yesterday evening, I had on a pair of flip-flops with silver sparkles all over them.  (Chickens really go for shiny things.  Chickens have pecked at my watch and rings multiple times.)   And, my toenails are still painted crimson red from the 4th.  The chickens really liked my flip-flops --- my flip-flops looked like something good to eat to the them.  And Russian Red, true to her breed name, really went for my red toenails.
The fowl creatures didn't hurt me --- no blood drawn --- not even any skin broken.  But, boy howdy, did they ever give my nerves a jolt.  I was busy refilling the water dispenser when the assault occurred, so I was preoccupied and paying no attention whatsoever to the chickens that were gathering very closely around me.  When the chickens attacked my feet, I let out a surprised yip and jumped.  The chickens backed off, but Russian Red quickly stepped back up to me and gazed longingly at my red toenails for the remainder of my stay with them.
From here on out, no sparkly flip-flops!  And, if my toenails are painted ... sneakers, baby, sneakers!                                                                                                             **** Reminder to self: no ankle bracelets or toe rings, either!

It\'s easy not to think sometimes when you don\'t feel well and even when you do.
What a lesson for you and all of us. I don\'t think I\'ll be around a group of chickens in the near future but if I am I will certainly take off my bling and remove red nail polish.

OK!! No pet chickens for me! I had no clue they were attracted to shiny things, but I guess you know NOW! Jeepers!! I guess that\'s why they give us eggs.....so we won\'t be mad at them for trying to eat us first.

That\'s just hysterical.Lying on the bed here typing and my tablet keeps shaking cause I can\'t stop laughing.Every time I picture you in those sparkly flip flops and the red toenails and the chicken attack, led by Russian Red, I just crack up over and over.I hope you weren\'t scared, then I would feel bad for laughing so much.So bloody funny though. My belly is hurting now.

just got to read your last two entries, glad you have time off from cooking as much while Tim is gone........I suppose if all the Christians with a mission vacate their own area, it\'s left to the guys on your side of the state to come in care of them..........it\'s like my daughter\'s father in law going off to Africa to do mission work in care of others, but he has no clue how to minister to someone like me.........it\'s a funny world.

someday i hope you will share your weight loss plan with me, i am looking for tips and ideas and like i said if/when you have the energy I am all EARS!

very happy and excited to hear that you can enjoy and wear smaller sizes......it\'s a great feeling! happy that a lovely complement came your way..........sometimes we ladies have a hard time accepting complements.......but PR you have worked really hard to get that weight off your joints and muscles in care of you and the result is a lighter more comfortable you.........it will also add a little more womanly glow to you head to toe! so wear it well!!!! big hugs!

.......baby baby, got so tickled and alarmed at the attack of the giant chickens in care of you and toes everywhere! poor poor you!!!! oh my ........brain fog makes for a dangerous advisor...........glad you weren\'t hurt worse but yeah that would startle and rattle my cage definitely! i think you should paint Tim\'s toes red in his sleep and drag him into the chicken coop some night........that would be wild...........mercy, ok , it would be naughty, but sometimes naughty is fun! .........sending you lots of happy thoughts in exchange for the joy of all you shared in your journals..........you\'re a marvelous story teller, hugs! ruthie
