four cats went out the window and one missing now grrrr//hectic day that "started" at midnight

at midnight i was at rn's picking up kittens to be fixed the following morning (its easier, packed in carriers and ready to go).  since we haven't caught the adults, we ended up with two batches of kittens.  they were fixed.  yay!  and are friendly, not like the parents, though one of the moms is nice and we fixed her.
i went home to sleep because i had to be at the clinic early, so by 2 a.m. i was sleeping.  at 6 a.m. i hear an animal crying nonstop.  i go outside and its sunshine, on the roof above the front door, but i didn't SEE her at first.  i saw one of the black himalayans and it runs.  then i hear crying in the back yard and i see black and white long fur and its prince, who comes to me.
i am totally confused now, its dark out, and i'm still half asleep.  i put prince in the house and i see Friendly outside, who also has a touch of a cold or something, [i think the foster mother/father who fostered friendly for a couple of weeks didn't bring it in when it was cold outside (though she says she did, i don't trust her husband, who's not into animals at all)].  so i pick up friendly who purrs right away and put him inside and go back outside, there is still crying LOUD, and its sunshine on the roof, FLIPPING from being outside.  i get a chair from the patio in front of the front door downstairs and she comes right over to me.  i scruff her and get her down slowly, supporting her backside against me, so she doesn't get more scared and prying her nails off of the roof a little at a time.  she figures it out and decides its safer leaning against me and doesn't try to hold onto the roof anymore.   she is super-scared.
i put her inside the house.  i count up, and rusty is missing.  rusty is a female himalayan and afraid of everything under the sun, who was recently returned after being adopted.  she is also the one that came in with a circle of cuts around her neck, so either caught in something or someone did something.  the vet found the scabs from the cuts when rusty was getting fixed.  the vet shaved her neck down to help it heal.  it only healed around two weeks ago.   so today, rusty is still missing.  we have been living at this beach house for almost five years and i never had trouble with the windows attracting the animals as long as the windows were only open a crack, they would just lie on the shelf in front of the windows and leave it at that.  i'm totally amazed by this drama from windows that has been happening in the passed several months.
have had nothing but bad luck with that litter of himilayan- mix rescue.  they were sick 3 times when they came in and on antibiotics and kmr formula during this.  the reason we got them is because they were ill and breeders don't want sickies and the pound will automatically kill animals that are ill.   long haired kittens generally get adopted quickly.  they were lucky that they came to us because two of them were returned after being adopted.  the friendly one has soiling issues and the shy female, rusty, is shy.   prince was great with us, but hid when adopted and righty, a female, who was adopted a while ago, i was told by another shelter, that the woman and her too wild 6 year old daughter terrorized it and it was brought to their shelter instead of calling us to make arrangements to pick up, which is what we normally do.  the shelter says they think the woman was embarrassed because she lied about how old her daughter was and its the second cat to run away from her crazy household.  (how about no pets, if your kids are nuts, especially not indoors).   the shelter she brought it to is a no-kill (very rare to be no-kill in north florida, can count the number of those on one hand).  the shelter had righty (a female, if they are correct and it is righty, the himilayan mix) fixed and adopted it to an older woman who put a hold on it, the same minute the woman and her daughter brought the animal to them to be returned.  the new adoptor said the animal was too traumatized and shy and returned it.  now it went somewhere else, adopted again.  they are beautiful kitties, very long dark fur and huge orange eyes, i wish they had just called me.  we're looking for land anyway and its better than being bounced around.  so that is at 6 a.m.
i try to get back to sleep and couldn't, even though i knew i'd be dragging.  so, i leave for the clinic and bring extra pants because i have to pack music records and boxes at richard's mobile today, before i pick up from the clinic and leave for work in the afternoon.  we eat at dunkin donuts (two bucks for two coffees, english muffin with egg and a french toast, toasted bagel with cinnamon cream cheese, we have coupons, its the only way to go to dunkin donuts, otherwise the menu STARTS at 3 dollars for things that are one dollar everywhere else).
got boxes at pet supply store and big lots, got detergent on sale and headed to the mobile to finally nap and pack records.  am there about one hour when one of the owners of that corporation of mobile parks (nicer demeanor than tim) and woman-manager (also nice) show up wondering what mr is going to do with her mobile that she is selling.  i keep thinking just hit me again, i'm trying to sleep.  i made a deal for mr (hope it works out) and discovered from russ who lives across the road of another deal in the park next to this that has a pool and clubhouse etc.  the mobile is completely redone with new appliances and new floors for 1500.  (why does anyone pay full price for these places and why don't these people ADVERTISE and finance when they try to sell them instead of returning them to the parks).  russ lets me know that debbi, who is ill and owned a beautiful mobile with cabana etc., gave her mobile to the park as well and is in a workers' compensation mess and living with her ex-husband in another mobile on the other side of the park.  he has one half and she has the other half.  so i'll let her know about mr's doublewide, which is fairly new and will be for sale shortly.  (never thought i'd know so much about mobiles but they are very popular, especially on golf courses).
packed up the music records, called mr with the deal, and LEFT before anyone else FINDS me.  headed for k's with the records and while he went through the vynal records, i used his bathroom to soak and change for work.  he bought steaks to grill and i couldn't even do that because the day is so rushed.  he knows about the cat being hit by a car and about the bandmate's daughter killed by a car...he says i hate to add to this, but julius horvath died (he does international folk dancing professionally).  i only mildly know him from dance about 12 years ago, and k knew him about 20 years ago, also from dance.  julius used to perform and teach folk throughout north florida.  i say it to a co-worker when i finally get to my office after all of this and he says, i told you yesterday, its in threes.  grrrrrr.  today isn't even done yet....can't believe how much death and its only january.
so i'm doing payroll on about 4 hours sleep today.  also the guy with 13 feral/almost feral cats (because the TWO he was feeding last year both had kittens, what are people thinking when they feed, but don't spay???, if for nothing else, it will save them money on food, feeding two is cheaper than feeding 13, so fork up the money and do the right thing BEFORE they get pregnant, and no it doesn't matter that its a stray you are feeding.  do the right thing you won't even miss the money and there are clinics that spay cheap EVERYWHERE).   hope we can get them done while its cheap.  wish he had called a month ago, its so much at once.

Wow, 79, I need a nap after just reading about your day (ok, with CFS I need a nap if I have been awake over a couple of hours but what I mean is ANYONE would need a nap after JUST reading about that day!)

So sad for the Himilayans that are being bounced around so much, I guess I understand the soiling issus but what is wrong with a shy cat? Will they not grow out of it if they are left alone to deal with their fear on their own time?

You do so much for so many, I am glad that you have good friends that share their home with you and k cooks so wonderfully. I do worry about you though, don\'t want you to get burned out and wear yourself out. Please take care.
Sending you positive energy, prayer for a peaceful weekend and lots of hugs and love.

on a positive note, rusty was there when i got home last night, but wouldn\'t let me near her.

interestingly, there was an orange kitty about the size/age that the animal would have been who got out the window that w thinks a raccoon killed. i couldn\'t believe it. no way to tell though, as cats kind of all look the same. odd it showed up last night after all this mess though.

need to call the adopter who adopted the sister to it and see if her\'s got away, as cats can find their way back. still having a time of it. just too much still going on.

rusty didn\'t show up this next night and neither did the orange one. have to talk to my neighbors on the next road and see what is going on. instead now michele is ill, its anemia, i was also worrying that the revolution did something bad to her, but she is even white around the eye and i know that is extreme anemia. i looked it up and it said to buy GERITOL and liver. i bought liver to cook for her and i gave her nutrical and formula. she is only slightly better. have to syringe feed her water....so odd, just two months after her brother died...i don\'t think its their \"time\" i think they are prone to things because they have trouble getting around.
