Found this on a website

Not many people can understand. There is a rhythm to true love, husband and wife act as pacemakers to each other. That electrical energy that powers their physical being extends out in magnetic fields that lock together. Their joy at being together sustains them they don't notice the looks of age. Nor the slowing of movement. As anyone knows that lives alone food just doesn't taste as good when it's not shared. Then the end comes for one and the field is broken. There's no more adrenaline rush from seeing each other nor comfort laying side-by-side in the darkness. And the creation that is the human body begins to slow and finally stops. For there is no love to recharge to refill the joy of living.
i found this on a site where the writer was talking about a couple that were married for 73 years died a day apart. I thought it said it all and wanted to copy it here so I wouldn't forget it.
