Forgiveness
My therapist brought up the subject of forgiveness today. It really was a valuable and light bulb inspiring thought.
There's forgiveness or cutting slack for ourselves and others but there's also the same generosity coming from others on us. The thought really blew my mind and lifted my spirits. I felt such a unity in that common experience of cutting each other slack and forgiving each other. Not just for ourselves by ourselves or for others but also by others for ourselves.

Thanks ccleaver!
There is a whole book written on forgiveness alone. It's called A Course in Miracles....I have been studying this book for the past 15 years. It's not meant to be a religion but an individual study book and it happens to be the book I was guided to read when I first got sober. It triggered my awakening. I'm not trying to sell you this book but I must say, it totally changed the way I look at myself and the world around me.. I highly recommend.
Here's to healing. Sometimes, it's the experience itself that is healing.
Forgiveness is what we do for ourselves. So when someone forgives someone else, they are also forgiving themselves.
Here's to making your path!
There is sure a ton to be said for forgiveness
It's forgiving myself that I struggle with
I was brought up using guilt to control me and It's something that I struggle with to this day
I get that it's unhealthy...I just don't know how to get past it
Big thanks and prayers to you Bob, Mid and Jan!!
i have come to think of forgiveness in casual terms. something i do as readily as i say, "please" and "thank you."
one of my more recent mantras is, "wear your love like an armor and forgiveness like a shield." i love this day i have been given. i forgive it for having more wind than i like. i love you for being you. i forgive you the tones of deception i hear when you tell me you are fine.
thanks arfie!! :) x
