Food Diary Reflections
Wow... I had no idea my sodium intake was so out of control! Today I had 3,700mg when they want you to get less than 2,300mg. I tried being good today, I don't know where it all came from (well, at least at the end... I did have some potatoes and some canned ravioli that sent my skyrocketing over the limit). I was just craving the ravioli really badly so I had some. I would rather have eaten half the can while I could control it than come back and eat the whole can. I left the other half for Geo to eat later. Tomorrow I don't know what I'm going to eat... I'm going to be out for a good part of the day and I don't know what I will be able to eat and when. I wish there was a Subway nearby where I'm going so I could get something healthy, but there isn't. I don't know of any healthy food place near where I'm going.
I will see how this turns out with my weight... I couldn't get a good reading on my scale today. It needs a new battery, so next week I'm going to go get one. I keep on getting random fluctuations of 10 pounds or more. It did say I was 240.5 twice in a row, but there's no way I lost 5 pounds in 3 days. The highest it said was 246.5 so that might be closer to the truth (up one pound) rather than down so much. I just need a new battery so I can stop worrying about stepping on the scale a billion times just to get a consistent reading. I've been using the same scale for 4 years now, so it's had a pretty good battery life. I just need to find the same one at CVS or Target or something. Eventually I want to get a new scale, just so I can see the smaller increments (mine goes by 0.5 pounds). I just want to see when I plateau what makes a difference up or down. It's hard when you are the exact same weight day after day and you don't know if there's anything good or bad going on.
As you can tell by the long reflections on my scale and weight, today was boring. Geo's little brother came over for a while to play Little Big Planet with Geo and they had fun. I was having a headache after my walk, so I just stayed in the room where it was quiet. I normally do that anyway after my walk, either stay in or take a nap. I've been having a lot of headaches lately... I should take an Immitrex with me tomorrow in case I get a migraine while out. I should carry some with me, in fact, all the time. It needs to be added to my pill bag. I did do my 2 mile walk today, and I walked it 2 minutes slower than I did the other day. I did try and hurry today, which hurts my time. I find that when I walk faster, I slow down even more when I do slow down and my time suffers for it. I just need to learn to pick up the pace all the time, though, because I would like to walk faster overall.
I'm not feeling as sick anymore. I still have the remnants of the head cold, but it's mostly gone now. I had to take klonopin to sleep last night because it was well after midnight and I showed no signs of falling asleep. I can't get my sleep too out of whack because I do have to go to therapy once a week, and that requires waking up early in the morning. Tomorrow, actually, I go to therapy. I wonder what I'm going to talk about. I've done nothing this whole week besides walk. I didn't spend as much time with Geo as I wanted to (outside of our anniversary dinner), and I've just been in bed. I don't think it's depression anymore, I think I'm just being lazy. Yesterday I woke up feeling great, ready to take on the world and I didn't do anything besides laundry. Well, laundry is a big chore for me, so I guess it's better than nothing.
I did get my sleep last night (once I took the klonopin) I slept from about 12:45am-8:45am and then again from 9:30-noonish. So about 11 hours of sleep, broken up a bit. I woke up at 8:45 ready to go, but I had to take a small dose of klonopin to come down since I was too high energy for that sleep. 8 hours is not a lot of sleep to me, and I was almost vibrating I had so much energy, so it was a possibly hypomanic situation. Food I did okay on today, was good on everything except for the sodium. Mood was good, feeling pretty nice despite the headache. Stress was a bit high today, with Geo's brother being here and all, but I think I handled it well by removing myself and letting my poor brain rest.

Awww i know how it is to have your battery go out on your scale oh my goodness that drives me nuts... wow 4 yrs thats a good long time. Im really disappointed in the scale i have the battery only lasted like 4 months so im thinking of getting a new scale cause im not happy with the one i have. They say its bad for a person with ED to wiegh but i just feel i need to. Hope your therapy goes good tomarrow.. huggzzz
you definetly got your moenys worth out of that scale!! try and not weigh yourself to often as daily flucuactions are common, and a weekly reading is probally the most accurate. why do you think the energy you had when you woke at 8:45 was a hypomanic state? maybe you were just feeling good and ready to go. i dont mean to be offending, just wondering. hugss
I may address this in the main journal, but Ann I knew I was hypomanic by the way my body was almost shaking. When I get hypomanic I can\'t stop moving my feet- that\'s one of my main clues it\'s coming on. I woke up and my feet were not stopping and it was hard to physically stop them from moving. I felt like I could get up and run my 2 miles instead of walk them. I woke up later feeling okay, so I think I\'m leveling out.
