Focusing on saving

I'm focusing on saving as much as I can. Starbucks is my one indulgence. Any purchase I make I record in a notebook and that helps me keep disciplined and aware. My Dad surprises me sometimes with food from Trader Joe's. That really helps curb the expenses. I totally go for the least expensive meals. A bowl of brown rice and a can of garbanzo beans. I don't mind so much and in fact I like it. My $2.75 coffee at Starbucks is probably the same cost or more for my meals.

So, I saved more money in my lock box today and I'm just goofing on that. What's that you say? Calling me Ebeneezer? HeheĀ

That is a good way to keep track of what makes you feel great about the goals you have!

Hurrah for really enjoying the Starbucks indulgence!

More than one of my financial advisors has advised me to keep a frivolous luxury or two in the budget, no matter how tight the current budget is. It helps reduce the chances of short-circuiting and blowing the whole wad on psychotic impulse.

You can buy an awful lot of gourmet coffee for the price of a single hospital stay, Ebeneezer, even with "good" insurance.

I might go so far as to call your morning coffee, "The Gift of the Magi."

That's great that you are able to save money with only one extravagance(coffee). it's nice of your dad to give you food from Trader Joe's.
