Five Random Thoughts
Last night, I got what I deserved, to be honest with all: It took a lot of caffeine -- much more than I would usually let myself take -- to get through yesterday after waking up at 3am. This of course has only led to a perpetuation of what must be labeled an insomnia cycle now.
So today I'm just going to mention the first five thoughts that come into head and nothing else:
1) When I'm feeling really bad, I tend to do stupid things like spend money on things I don't need. The latest gaffe on this front was purchasing Intellivision Lives for my DS through Amazon last Friday...it should be at my door this week. I'm only out around $17, but why did I do that? I haven't been able to do anything fun that's hands-on for a month now, maybe longer.
2) Perhaps unsurprisingly, that's also roughly as long as the current sleep issues have been running. The only nights I have any success now are when I'm totally exhausted mentally and physically, which is completely pathetic.
3) The Women's World Cup begins later this week in Germany. It will be hard to bet against the two-time defending champion Germans, who last time became the first team -- men's or women's -- to have a clean slate (no goals conceded) for the entire tournament.
4) Glad I didn't have to go into Boston Saturday. Heard the mass transit system was overwhelmed by the million fans that came out (yes, that's the estimate...a million) to celebrate the Bruins' Stanley Cup win.
5) I wish I had cue cards for everything that comes out of my mouth. You have no idea -- unless I know exactly what I want to say -- how long it can take me to post a journal entry or send a message to a friend at times.
