First Time Posting

Hello Everyone!

I joined this site a few weeks ago, but have just not had time to post anything. I wanted to share my story and see if anyone has had similar experiences. My anxiety reached it's peak about 2 years ago. Ever since I was little I remember feeling very anxious in big groups of people, but it never interfered with my daily activities. However, 2 years ago I began experiencing nighttime panic attacks and spells of laying on my couch crying for weeks. I was later diagnosed with anxiety/depression. I started medications, which took me about 6 months to find one that trul worked for me without making me feel "zombie"-like. About a year later, my husband and I decided to expand our family. Therefore, I was weaned off of my medicine and did WONDERFUL the entire pregnancy (little to no anxiety/depression symptoms). However, I gave birth to our son two months ago and my anxiety slowly crept back and now I am having a panic attack at least once every other day. I actually went to the ER multiple times because I wasn't sure if it was anxiety or heart problems from giving birth. My EKG came back abnormal once about two weeks ago, so I have an ECHO scheduled for this following week. I'm actually very nervous to go to my appointment because I constantly imagine the worst case scenarios and am nervous my anxiety has caused heart problems, but I don't even know if that is possible? I'm so torn between what to do. Keep dealing with these symptoms and feelings as if I can't even leave the house because my attacks have been so severe that I have become dizzy and fainted. Or find a medication that is safe to take while breastfeeding. Also, I have always extremely feared the idea of death or my loved ones passing away, which makes the time and days go by very quickly and at the end of the day I am constantly beating myself up over stressing all day rather than enjoying it. I'd also like to add that I am earning my Masters in Counseling, so I feel that knowing so much about anxiety has actually made things worse because I am so aware of my symptoms. Sorry so long! I don't have many people that understand what I am going through so this was a nice place to vent!

Thanks!
