first sunday of the year
I organized to take the morning off from serving.
It was well worth it -
I woke up late.
I put a load of laundry on.
showered and dressed and spent time with Blue.
I went out to Dunkin' for a coffee
and then came back in time for the tail end of services.
all leisurely paced and wonderful.
I had some good thoughts along the way.
I thought about how we all want emotional connection
and something my therapist lastly said to me 'we’re all just people!'
From what I wrote earlier on a journal is that I am better
learning to respect people for their isolation, pain and self responsibilty.
Again I know we're all just people - me taking the focus of that right now.
I am learning to understand people and myself and
the way I and we handle those decisions and desires
and needs.
I'm learning not to get all crystalized refinement of mind - but I'm understanding the reality
that I get lonely and am lonely at times and want some fun and distraction and companionship - it's human
it's natural - and besides we're all just people - me included! Art and poetry can be sublime
but a sense of humor and empathy rule for me
:)

Glad you're having a leisurely day, Mark! I hope that your week is just as good. Hugs!
thanks susan! YOU ROCK AND ARE AWESOME!! :) :)
Thank you, Mark! Right back atcha… x 2. :)
I realize my wisdoms are my way of feeling good about myself, affirmations for sure, that I feel pride of place to reach out and offer to others. I realize I am not the strongest person - and don't always feel positive about my place on the food chain here or out in the world - but everyone stronger or weaker have to deal with their hierarchy which they are a part of - and so sometimes all feel the validation of their strength and or worthiness and sometimes all have to just embrace their flawed but loveable self. Intrinsically you are worthy!!
I am so grateful for my community here and Blue and I hope you all find yourself loveable because you are!
What a lovely journal sweetie and so very true
If we can recognize that we are all just people warts and all then hopefully we can be kinder and more forgiving
Big squishy hug...xo
Thanks Jan!
I was so confused catching up on DS because I titled my entry for today the SAME THING!
Yes, we are just people. I am working on so many things and one of them is for a reading I am going to do. I need to just use my authentic voice and be me, yet I am still so panicked (and traumatized) by feeling misunderstood.
I hope one day empathic oceans are crossed.
Hugs, Mark!
