First IVF coming up and need advice!!
Good morning DS ladies,
Hope everyone's day is starting off right! I've managed to pick myself up from my last IUI disappointment and get somewhat excited about my first IVF attempt in January. I really need some advice from those of you who have been through this. My RE said that it will take 5 weeks to get my body ready for the IVF, three weeks of BC and them two weeks of injectibles. I"m trying to time things out and figure when is the best month to do this. My dilemma is that I have to go out of town on business January 23rd (only 2 days). I'm calculating roughly when my period will start at the end of December to start my cycle and it looks like I will either still be on the injectibles that week or actually doing my procedure. I"m bummed because I don't want to wait until February, so I can really use some advice on what I should do. I don't want to be on the business trip feeling horrible and I'm not sure how my body will react to the double doses of hormones.
I really don't want to wait but I also want to do what's best for me.

Personally, I\'d probably wait one more month just to be safe, even though it sucks to have to keep waiting. Either way, I\'m excited for your 1st IVF cycle and hope this is it for you!
I thought I would stim for a full 2 weeks for some reason and so I tried as much as possible to plan it out based on that. We only ended up stimming for 9 days, trigger day 10, retrieval day 12. Then transfer was 5 days after that. So I was almost a whole week ahead of the schedule I had in my head. I say wait another month if you can\'t cancel the business trip. I am sooo excited for you!! xo
Thanks ladies! I was afraid ya\'ll would say that. I guess my heart just wants it so bad that one more month seems like an eternity. :(
I thought I would stim for 2 full weeks and it was only 8 days. Plus I thought the hormones were going to make me tired and feel like shit but it was the opposite I was energetic, happy and felt great! I actually haven\'t felt this great in a while. My ER was this past monday and transfer is this sat so in all it took almost 3 weeks once I got my period on Nov 4th. Can you reschedule the business trip? If not def wait til February to start so that you don\'t have to stress about your schedule. The shots were easy I did most of them myself. Good luck!!
Tell your RE about your business trip. If need be, you can do BCPs an extra week ( it should hurt anything) and you can be on more of a timetable where you know you\'ll be stimming, and you aren\'t waiting for an entire cycle. I didn\'t do any kind of BCPs or body prep before my IVF, but have heard of others timing their cycles out this way. It\'s definitely worth asking about. So excited for you!
It doesn\'t hurt to ask your RE, they will likely be able to advise you based on their past experiences and like Nellysgirl said....they may be able to make suggestions for ways of timing it more around your schedule.
I agree, it would suck to have to wait but you have to do whats best for you and unfortunately that means scheduling around work sometimes :(
Wouldn\'t it be nice if IF wasn\'t so darn inconvenient!??!?!!? haha
Talk to your RE or nurse. They plan these all the time and may help you out when what is best. They may also have you be on BCPs longer or shorter to help plan around your trip too without you having to wait a full month before you start. IVF planning is stressful, but I know it will work out. And if you are stimming on your trip it should not really make you feel too bad unless its your last day or two. That\'s when I started feeling more bloated. Good luck!

Yeah ask your RE. My DH travels a lot so they made me a mock calendar based on my estimated start date. Of course it is flexible based on hoe you respond but it can give you a ballpark. I don\'t have much reaction to the meds so I personally could travel no problem for 2 days but you have to be careful of the days you need to be monitored. Good luck and can\'t wait- whenever it falls!
You can always take the meds with you on your trip. I am scheduling my IVF right now and the only thing is they have to do ultrasounds on certain days and I couldn\'t do one on the day they wanted so they just bumped up everything by 1 day, the calendars can be manipulated and you might not need an ultrasound on that day and if you need bloodwork you can always find a lab anywhere to do it if you have orders. I have done that many times too.

Great news ladies! I spoke to the nurse and she told me that they can accomidate my schedule. She said that they might extend my BC a couple of days depending on when I start my cycle. I\'m super excited and so ready to do this! Thank you so much for your support!!

So glad that you talked to your RE/nurse and they are going to accomodate your schedule. How exciting that you have a plan in place. The injections suck and so does the ER, but it will hopefully all be worth it. If you have any questions at all, feel free to message me :)
