First completely from scratch pie

I made a strawberry pie yesterday and it tasted sooo good. Usually I am not a fan of fruit pies but this one was delicious. And like the title says all from scratch. Usually I use premade pie crusts and make like chocolate pies with box pudding or something. But this one was totally homemade and I am very proud of it. Also made whipped cream for the top from scratch as well.

My grandma said it was very good and that her mom would be proud of it if she was here. I always love when she says things like that because she is always talking about how her mom used to cook and bake things for them and how much she loved it. It just makes me happy that I can make things so good that it makes her think about happy times.

She has not been feeling well lately, not able to keep food down. She seemed pretty tired and not happy today. I am worried for her she always seems to be in pain and tired. But at least I can make her happy with things I bake. It is kinda my way of saying I love her and all my family I just like to make things for everyone. And just her seeing me use the skills she taught me makes me happy and I hope it makes her happy too.

But anyway here is a pic of the pie it is really not a very nice picture it looks plain and the lighting is bad. But to me pies are one of those things that doesn't really have to look pretty they just have to taste good and I think I accomplished that. Also sadly burnt the edges a bit but it wasn't even noticeable flavor wise. 9eb1f1ddbd8cffda85679ef663e387f019fc04dd.png

Being from a long line of great and morbidly obese cooks, my personal kitchen fantasies have had me wandering down the Mad Scientist lines. Herbal extraction has been the branch I've worked most consistently but even that has met with more fits than starts.

I'm not too sure I care why that keeps coming to my head with your baking review, but the show is quite entertaining. This morning you have tree frogs hopping around your floppy baker's cap.

I wish I had lots of tree frogs in my kitchen. Maybe not so hygienic but still very cute and fun.

Seems like tree frog legs would be too small to be worth the trouble, but regular frog legs are quite hygienic in my kitchen. Careful. . . Frog legs'll jump out of the skillet if ya doesn't watch 'em.

Thank you hyperpgal! I never had strawberry pie before I baked this one and it is definitely one of my new favorites.
