First AA Meeting

Went to my first ever AA meeting today. It being a Sunday, I thought more would be in attendance.  Very small group,  the leader, an old-timer, a court appointee, and myself.  An alcoholic friend had said she would go with me, but bailed out at the last minute.  BF, who is 3 months sober, said he'd been sick all w/e.  I read the promises outloud to the room,  but I don't think I remember when I do that.  I'm just reading, not listening.  Yes, I was asked if I could do this, and I did.  I shared a lil of my story, but was crying the whole time.  I will try another meeting.  I'm told there is more attendance on weekdays, and the Sat. breakfast.  I did walk up and get a chip!  24 hrs.  I'll wait til I meet that 24 hrs before I go again.  It hasn't been today!
