finding it hard to be alone
Yesterday I was twisting and turning mentally - trying to answer questions
and it was just all too much.
I decided to just have self compassion - and it lessened
my burdens.
I'm here alone this morning also and I've started to twist and contort again...
and I guess I am just realizing that I have a hard time being alone...
I shouldn't feel bad about that -
I'll give myself the good stuff. :)

Thanks sunshine!!
I always read quotes about being alone or loneliness or this or that and they can kind of make a person wilt. It’s like the age old existentialist sort of questions that make it all unbearable.
I used to be really social. Life hardened me to be unable to trust. As I go out in the world now these days, I have to master the balance of being open to possibility but choosing wisely. Most of the time, it’s too much and I stick to myself. I’m trying to get better.
You’re not alone in feeling alone. Isn’t that a song lyric?
Thanks Nikki!!
Thanks again Nikki! Your response here really resonated and was so impactfully relevant!
I’m glad it helped Mark. For what it’s worth, I spent my Sunday working on data projects for work. Thats not healthy. But it at least made today really productive for a larger group of people outside of myself and I didn’t have time to wallow in my aloneness.
I’m relaxing now with a glass of wine, but I know I need to make sweeping changes in my life. Where to begin, where to begin.

let's hear it for the healing power of self-compassion! ! ! as a bonus, the self-compassion gives me more compassion to share with the world.
again i feel the problem envy of living alone through the window of my currently over-populated life. i remember the problems of living alone well enough, but ? ? ? what i wouldn't give for a week or three of alone time right now. . . it has been around 3.5 years since i inherited my three orphans and it still feels like a shock to my system.
alas, the absence of isolation hasn't changed my mental twisting and turning much. i still torture myself with the never-ending questions, etc. self-compassion still needed.
(((((Arfie)))))) thanks
