finding happiness?

I am becoming more aware of my limits lately. More aware that I may not have
much more to aspire to in my life however as I said this to my Father - he encouraged
"You've got to find your happiness." It's true that despite it all I kind of have to make peace
with things. I have to make peace or be creative and find something to like about my life,
how I am living, and just invent something that is a consolation.
Living with illness can be really isolating. I love my contacts and friends here at dailystrength.org and also those I talk to over emails. I don't have many 'in person' friends aside from the people I live with - and the people I have contact with at work. My Dad says that has to change. That also may be true though daunting as it may be.
I feel incapable but I know there are days and moments when I am capable. I know it's hard for anyone to be the ever optimist.

This is just what I am thinking about.

Peace,
Mark

I\'ve found that since I had to give up working and going through a grief process that this is so true for me as well M.... I think I used to look for \'big\' happiness much more though
Now I do recognize moments of joy and the smaller things that are all around me... I think if we recognize the smaller things we become much happier people... \'Take time to stop and smell the roses\'
This really hit me once I\'d lost my folks.... The things that I would frequently remember and miss were ALWAYS the little things..
Great big hug for you sweetie..x

thanks Jan. I appreciate your ideas and perspective. It\'s true sometimes we can get caught up in \'big happiness\' which can be at odds with who we are or how we \'get on\' in everyday.
