financial issues and mental health challenges
I think this is something a great number of us might need support with.
It's isolating enough to have mental health challenges.
Financial deprivation though doesn't help with the healthy expression
of our normal (or maybe super normal) appetites as human beings.
It's the holiday season - so it's financially more taxing than usual. I think
it's the world over this kind of pressure too.
I have given the problems I am having a little bit of positive structure.
I will no longer go to Dunkin' most mornings to get a plain coffee - which little by
little does 'add up.' I also won't indulge on the random 'bite to eat and drink'
once a week or so. I will give myself though something to look forward to.
Every month now, I have two days off from duties here. These are days entirely free
for me to go to appointments or do whatever I like.
Though I still can't afford to go out to do much - I will go out on these days - and splurge
a little bit mindfully so that it fits and supports my financial health.
Tonight is my last night out this month. The next free day I have will be November 1.
Next pay period at the beginning of November will nearly entirely go towards paying
off bills. I'm not a spendthrift anymore - but I have had both an airplane ticket to California
and my car insurance, to pay for as well as the normal expences.
I think I know what I can do to create some fun at night. :)
Have a good weekend you guys!!
xo Mark

Big hug sweetie.....It's hard when you don't have what you'd like to have coming in
I think saving for the days that you have off to splurge a little is a great idea
I hope that you get the job that you hope for soon...xo
Thanks Janet!
I sell stuff on ebay. There was no way I could make a living off it because it's time consuming but the more time I put into it, the more luck I seem to have at selling. It supplements my ssi. Hope y'all have a great weekend.....Hugs
Thanks Bob!!
as a gypsy kid, my mother favored tri-state areas so that she could play three state lotteries every week. on every payday. she would drive to all three states to buy lottery tickets. sometimes i had to go with her and listen to her talk about how money would solve all her problems.
after i decided that the streets were safer than her tender, loving care, i heard similar refrains from my fellow throwaways. all these decades later, i still don't have to go far to hear that sad song. i grow ever more convinced that money covers up more problems than it solves.
dunno where i'm going with this ramble. playing the devil's advocate, maybe? just rambling? ? ?
Thanks Arfie!
