Finally
i finally got a letter from A!! I cannot tell you how much joy and relief it brought me, but it always brought me a lot of fear too...
He’s ok though, I mean as best as he can be given the situation, he’s not in trouble thankfully but things have changed, now there’s talk of shipping him somewhere else, and there’s all these new rules about how you can write a letter now. No more colored pens or perfumed letters...all the little things I did for him that made him happy have been taken away from him, and for what?
It’s such a f’ed up system, they say they want to help them rehabilitate and reform but then they treat them like animals and then are confused when they act like it!
They sent back a letter I sent to him but at least the gave him the pics, so I resent the one they sent back with no violations he should’ve gotten it today. I haven’t written him back from the letter he sent me though...I have a lot of questions I need to ask him but I’m afraid of the answers so I just haven’t written, I feel badly because he’s in the SHU so I know he’s counting on hearing from me, but I can’t bring myself to write him right now. But I sent him two books PAPERBACK which is another new rule or else they’ll get sent back. But hopefully the books will help him pass the time while I sort out my feelings.
I booked a ticket to see him at the end of this month but if they move him...ugh I can’t even think abt it...
but I’m so glad that I finally heard from him after two weeks of silence, longest two weeks of my life!

I totally hear you about rehabilitate/reform grrrr! For the true trash that's in there ie. murderers/rapists they are scum but I think for a great deal of them they went down the wrong path, like my hubz to be did. He called me this morning and told me his celly went home yesterday and now he has a new one who he thinks is a rapist!! I was mad as hell and asked him how did he even get in there with him???
Yes there are so many rules of incoming mail. Where my guy is there's 35 pages alone about mail. Yes 35 pages! From here on out make sure if/when you send him cards that they're plain ie, no glitter/stickers etc., just the words/pictures. Oh no musical cards or ones that fold more than regular opening/closing. And make sure all letters/cards are in white envelopes. Better safe than sorry and have them come back to you. With photos the max is 5 at one time, make sure you find out for sure. Of course no super sexy ones. As for books, yes they have to be paperback and make sure you send them through amazon. I don't know about barnesandnoble or booksamillion so you might want to check those out. There's also a cute site called lovebookonline.com where you can make a book ad have it sent! I sent one last year on hubby's birthday and I'm going to do it this year!
And don't be afraid to get the answers to your questions. Yes some might leave you with your jaw dropped for a minute or two but I promise you'll be ok :)
