Field Trip
I volunteered to be a chaperone on today's Kindergarten field trip. Duty hours approximately 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. My sleep last night was fractured and fraught with unremembered dreams. I cannot remember the dreams but the feelings I woke with indicate anticipation anxiety. I've been working to ease the pre-corona suspects for my anticipation anxiety but 6 hours in a smoke-free zone is the only suspect which stands still long enough for credibility. I have nicotine lozenges to help me through that business-as-usual.
The covidic anxiety remains the superstar of the inventory. Which interpretations of the marshal law mandates will I encounter this time? The field trip is at a theme park and I never adapted to pre-Corona theme parks. The general chaos was always a bit much for my senses. Sensory overload guaranteed. Can I just stick a fork in an electrical socket to achieve the effect with some efficiency? Do I really have to draw it out over 6 consecutive hours? And now I get to process a whole new and still unstable set of social expectations while I am working to process the intense energy surges? Which expert are you quoting, Officious One?
The things we do for love. . .
Big Sis is excited to beat the band about her first ever field trip. She is even more excited that I will be there. So are the lunch buddies who have come to recognize me over the course of my 2 weeks of volunteer lunch monitor duty.
I feel guilty for my need to leave the mood icon on the rapid cycling median. I'm supposed to be the Rock of Ages on this mission, aren't I?
Just breathe. . .
The gut knots are fierce. . .

After I read this, before I even commented, I went & lit a candle for you & Im gonna keep it burning all day for some backup extra good luck
You’re awesome amiga :)
Sending support & strength
Big hug <3
Thank you for the candle, Missy. I believe in prayer solidly enough that I honestly believe it helped.
The day went remarkably well. Only one mask in the entire park and that was on a juvenile fashion diva. The other adults in attendance were starting to open up about the challenges of parenting/teaching in masked and socially distant coronaville. It is good to know I am not alone in my befuddlement.
God willing and the maskites don't rise, these children might have a future.
I'm glad that it went so well Arf.... You Rock!!.... Big hug....xo
Thank you, Jan. Point of fact, I actually do Rock.
On the "Hay Ride", I got out a couple of my ball point pens and started my EFT to calm the social anxiety, tapping the pens lightly on the clean metal frame of the flatbed trailer they were calling a "Hay Wagon." My pens were soon stolen by the munchkins on either side of me. NFF! ! ! The munchkins on either side of thieving munchkins quickly started fighting for their turns with my ordinary pens turned collector items. I had to improvise quickly. Kinder wars were brewing. I started tapping on the bench and stamping my feet in hopes of inspiring other possibilities. Before I knew it, the whole trailer was rocking. Literally.
The park attendants looked like they didn't know whether to ban us from the park or applaud. We didn't hurt your trailer none, cutie.
Thankful all wen well for you (((hugs)))
