Feeling ok
Hi Ric
I'm feeling ok. We have got 2 weeks off for Easter now, we are going to your mums for dinner tomorrow. Thom had a great day on his birthday, the best he could without you. He loved his presents although I bought him a Lego Hero he had already got, he was very forgiving, he knows I'm not verygood with the names of them! All day he kept saying thank u! We took 30 little cakes into school that he made the night before for his class, he had a big badge with 6 on, and when I got to school the kids came running up saying, Nicola do you know Thomas is 6 today!! Errrr yes, I am his mummy, the teacher thought it was funny too. We went for tea with my dad to a restaurant after school, the one you and I worked at, when we first got our flat together. I showed Thom where I used to drop you off for work. I hope you saw the shock on his face when they brought out his birthday cake and the whole restaurant joined in to sing!! He had a Manchester United cake with footballs on the top, he loved it. He blew kisses and cuddles up to you, as he loves you sooooo much.
I've been looking at cars this morning as I know I'm going to have to sell your beloved sports car in a few months as I won't be able to afford the tax and insurance once it's up in September. If you were still here, you would be looking at new cars yourself soon, as I know what you are like, always looking for the next thing! So I comfort myself with the fact you would be selling soon anyway, and you know I have to prioritise now being a single mum to Thom financially. I am grateful that I have a lovely house with a garden, paid for, but even in the early days after you died when I didn't know what was happening financially, I accepted that I would have to go wherever, do whatever, but as long as you have your life, material things don't matter. If I lost all the reminders of you that we have, you would still be in our hearts, minds and memories, so what do possessions matter?
We both miss you and love you so much, forever in our hearts, never to be forgotten xxxxxxxx

Nicola, glad that Thom\'s birthday turned out good. I knew you would make it great for him. Ric was smiling and there with you both.
I have always said material things were not important and after my husband passed away, that just reinforced it for me.....the most important things in life CAN NOT be replaced, everything else can............hugs
