Feeling sad and a little scared

I went to see my family doctor today since I've been feeling tired, low energy lately. She says my fibroids have increased in size and she wants me to get the surgery to remove them. I cried in her office. I don't know if this surgery will affect my ability to one day have a child of my own. On the other hand dr. says that this could have affected my fertility. Feeling scared. Who will take care of me while I am recovering. Don't want to go through this alone.
I have to get an ultrasound and the gyn. will evaluate the situation. But just from feeling my stomach dr. says she can tell that they are quite large. I've been ignoring this issue for the past 7-8 years but now it seems that I have to deal with it.
