Feeling good

I'm seeing the good things in my life. So grateful for my friends.

i am very very lucky! Starting to see the clouds clearing, well knowing the weather changes in life.

Last night I zoom called with my family

and after it I sent a text. In it I confessed about my life long difficulties with certain relationships in life. Then i apologized for dumping it on them and that i would 'tell my therapist'. Coming from me and my experience here at a monastery I had a bright insight in that moment that in America, monasteries seem to be replaced by mental health professionals.

For 'understanding and clarity', i thought, to seek a therapist. For 'hope and love' seek a monastic!

There's both unconditional love but also respect that we each walk with a personal story in life where I am now. It's hard to explain I'm starting to see myself separately from others here and yet also well knowing I am a member.

Have a good day guys!!

I’m also starting to see why I was attracted to the monastery life. It was an open door yes, but it fulfilled the quality and questions in my life that I needed to feel secure. My doctors in LA told me I would make an excellent mental health professional. I would love to be a part of that profession. The starting point was unclear for me. But through a series of life circumstances now that I’m here in Europe in a monastery I am realizing my own mission to help people and with what tools as well.
Hope and love (the monastic side) and clarity and understanding. (the mental health aspect of things). I hope I can bring these to people but i understand there’s a lot else to deal with here.. I need to learn and will.
It’s indeed an individual journey that rhymes in ways. Mental health professionals help you to learn to take care of your life
And are there to share the journey with you and the monastics do the same just in a kind of metaphysical way.
Feeling good and positive.
Have a great day!!

So glad you are feeling good about many things and experiencing some aha moments! I apologized to someone the other day for "dumping" on her, and she responded, "Never use that word. It's not dumping; it's sharing." You do a great job sharing your thoughts and emotions.
