feeling better today
I went to sleep last night, kind of hurting as my friend Jan knows,
and I woke up kind of feeling like I was in a hole. I felt like a really flawed
person - with no joy - with no prospect, just fractured and here.
I decided to go through the paces of going to Starbucks where, even though
'the going out' was a pleasure, I just felt like I didn't know what I was going
to get in terms of social interaction.
I came home again after that, felt just split and kind of moody - but something in
me told me to read my notes from last night that I have in my DRAFTS folder of my email
and with that I was inspired...I decided to keep positive. I decided (as one friend put it) to CHOOSE HAPPY.
I've been sitting here watching the morning news while it's been raining on and off now...
and I realized I am just going to choose what I am going to do. I am NOT going to watch TV all day away.
I am going to break out the umbrella and go for a walk.
Anyways - I think what I just wanted to write about is the 'choosing aspect' of what I was going to do
about my mood. I just started to choose to do things that made me feel valuable - that i valued as well..
and that helped change my outlook...a little, bit by bit.
I hope you guys are having a good start to the week.
peace and good vibes,
Mark

Thanks Jan!!!
I can never resist a rousing Gene Kelly imitation when I go walking in the rain. "Just singing in the rain. . ."
Good thing all the sane folks stay inside when it rains, huh?
Congrats on finding the empowerment value of choosing our emotional take on life. Knowing I have a choice makes it easier to smile, even on a bad day.
"What a glorious feeling, I'm hap-hap-happy again
"Just singing, singing in the rain."
Now I gotta see if I can dig up that movie. It's been so long that I almost credited Fred Astaire for the song.
For what it's worth
I think it's the flaws which make people interesting. Who wants to talk to a centerfold?
The greatest gift you can give yourself is the real you.
thanks arfie. it's raining so hard today I ended up staying indoors. i started to beat myself
up about it as I've mostly had the tv on - but did take care of a few bills and the mail.
it's just raining too hard - thanks for the good outlook to take!
Making the time inside during a heavy rain means doing the inside exercise to help lift the 'feeling depression' as I call it.
You're onto the right way to help yourself stay in balance doing what you're doing!
Hurrah!
thanks mid!
