Feeling a Little Lucky!

Well, I completely read my anthro syllabus wrong and read all this text and articles about social conflict and a religious group in South Dakota.  Went to take the midterm and more than half was on family relations and kinship and about this group of indians from I don't know where (I'd never heard of them).  I came out of the test thinking I had done VERY poorly - knowing I had guessed on 1/2 - 3/4 of the questions.  I got my grade today and it was a 98%!!  Maybe I should always just guess!!
My sociology teacher was so impressed with my essays on her midterm that she said I should actually write the textbook.  I haven't gotten the Arabic midterm scores back - but after the oral interview, she said I did very well and has recorded the official grade with the university as an "A".
Feeling prettty good going in to Spring Break!!!
Still fighting between my son and his teachers.  His math teacher made him stand in a corner yesterday because he was "asleep on his feet" sitting at his desk.  I knew he didn't feel good.  He told me he had a bad sore throat and hadn't slept well, but with all the problems and him already being a bit behind, I had him go try to make it through.  I ended up with an email from the teacher and he got to talk to the principal again.
So, yeah, I explained all this to his teacher and that he was home sick today because he feels even WORSE today.  She asked me about some still missing assignments.  I was just honest with her and told her at this point he doesn't WANT to perform well for them.  He does feel singled out.  Even if this is not the case, it doesn't change the fact that he feels it.  I also told her there have been several sociological studies that show lower socioeconomic groups get singled out and labeled, and usually begin to actually start living up to the label - and that is my biggest concern!
I hope Spring Break also does my son some good and that I can get him back on track for a fresh start when he returns....
