Family Estate
It sounds like a big deal calling it an estate but I guess it is more than a lot of people have.
anyway, last week my brother and I went to the lawyers and settled our part of the estate except for a little held back for taxes. Thus, my brother is no longer under my watch or care. This lifts a great deal off my shoulders and I have felt a great deal of relief. The day before this was settled one of the renters of the houses we inherit put in their 30 day notice. My bro0ther and I both inherited two houses. One of the ones I inherited is now going to need to be rented and perhaps cleaned and repaired, tho I don't think there will be much needed. And so I now have my own mo9ney and way of getting more as long as I can keep the houses rented. Again big anxiety relief. I only have to find out if I can still stay where I am depending on what they decide based on my owning houses.
And here is the newest thing which is causing some stress, my brother just had a car accident where he rear ended someone. Mostly messing up his car and he is alright. I dodged a big bullet here as if he was still under the conditions of the will the trust would probably need to help him but now he is on his own. but, I expect he is going to try and get me to help him. I got more money than he did in the final break down and he will forever remind me of it and expect me to help him, I imagine. I do not plan to. He may even not expect me to help him but he has already caled and asked if he can borrow my car while his is getting repaired.
So until he gets his car running again I'm gonna be bothered by my brother still. I don't have good feelings about this. We made it thru the estate finalizing without too much trouble but now because he is so irresponsible and will want me to fix things for him it may be the final straw.
Overall, I'm feeling so much better not having legal reasons to need to watch over him and feel finally free of him. we will have to see how it goes.
