Falling apart
Valentine's Day is our 24th anniversary. I know we will not be able to celebrate in the same way we have in the past. Yet I know that each moment, each word, is a treasure more beautiful than any dinner together or weekend away.
I fell apart today. Went to the drugstore to pick up a prescription refill (something I do a lot these days), started to look at the Valentine's Day cards and Anniversary cards, and just couldn't do it. I left empty handed, came home to Bob and told him I couldn't look through the cards, I'll write my own, but it was just too difficult to read the sentiments on the cards, or to see the funny cards I may have picked out in the past. So I came home and sobbed in his arms instead.
I love my husband.

The best Valentine\'s Day is to be in your precious husband\'s arms. God bless you, my dear friend.
Dear Karen, There is no place now for the commercialism of Valentine\'s Day. Now, there is only the purity of two hearts that love each other. Hug Bob all you can and hold this love you feel deep into your memory so it will last for a lifetime. The sadness you are feeling right now is a testimony to the love you have for Bob. Keep holding him all you can. I understand your pain and I am sending my heartfelt prayers your way. Love, Linda
Karen, I\'m so sorry for the heartache and pain you are going through, but you will keep taking one step at a time...you have no choice. Gods grace will keep you and I would hug you if I could. Again, I\'m very sorry for how you are hurting. Vernell
HAPPY anniversary! your love for bob is worth thousand and thousands of cards. even if how beautiful the card is...it will not be as beautiful as how you take care and show your affection to him. God bless you both!
Dear Karen, I can relate a little to how you feel. During a tough time I went into Wallmart and fell apart. I too left with nothing. Linda who took such good care for her husband did so with such dignty and grace. She like you made her husband the only priority in her life. Hold him, kiss him and tell him often how much you love him and how happy he has made you during these last years. If you can, lie in the bed with him and rub his back and comfort him. Please, please know that I will pray for you and him to find peace and comfort in these days. I will pray that you will find the love of Jesus in the room beside you. I am hurting, along with so many of your DS friends that you are in this situation and I can\'t do anything but pray, that I can promise you I will do.
Love and prayers,
Wanda
Thank you dear friends, for all of your encouraging comments. I know the love is what\'s important, all of the emotion caught me by surprise. Your words of kindness are a blessing.
Dear Karen - a shop bought card can\'t possibly say what\'s in your heart right now, and i\'m not surprised you fell apart. I do it all the time - often in the woods when I go walking where we used to go together. No shame, no shame at all. And it\'s ok to cry in front of Bob too, I think - you\'re only showing him how much you love him. So sorry Karen, and sending much love and prayers your way
Meriel
