fall is here
Hi Everyone, Fall is finally here in North Carolina. The nights and mornings are so cool and crisp. I expect it is really getting cold for my friends in the north. The accorns falling have been like pistol shots on the metal buildings. We have raked and swept them up by the bucket full. Old tales say when a lot of accors fall it will be a rough winter.
My oldest daughter went to the woolly worm festival in Chimney Rock NC over the week end. You can purchase a worm for $2.00 and put in a race for $1000.00. She named hers woully bullie. But her worm was lazy and didn't win. It is a street festival and she and her husband go every year. The leaves are beautiful in the mountains but I haven't got to go so far this year. I would like to take my dog and just walk in the leaves. Oh and take Steve too. hehe
I always wanted to go to Maine and the northern states to see the sites in the fall. But that hasn't happened yet, maybe someday.
It will be Christmas soon. I will remember all of my DS friends especially during that time. I can imagine that the holidays are the absolute most painful time when you have lost a loved one. I can truthfully say that when my Mom and Dad died our families just stopped getting together. No one wants to put forth the effort anymore. I had some gatherings for a while and then that just stopped happening. Their was seven of us children. Can you imagine raising 7 children now? I used to tell Daddy that he just had us to work on the farm! It was nothing for us to start hoeing a field of cotton that was 20 acres big! I would tie my shirt up under my breast and wear my short shorts and hope Steve would drive by! And of course the mailman would drive by slowly! I laugh out loud to think of that old goat now!! LOL
love yall, Wanda

Hi Wanda, I hope it\'s not going to be a rough winter! I never heard of the wooly worm festival, but we\'ve never been over to the mountains either! Hope all your dreams come true:)
Love you,
Lois
Hi Wanda,
Just letting you know it is definitely cooler here. The frost has already been on the pumpkins and most of the fall leaves are now on the ground, leaving the trees looking stark and barren. I hope we don\'t get a lot of snow this winter. Hope everything is still going good for you and yours.
Hugs,
Judy
I believe Fall in America and Canada is so beautiful. The mountains would be something to see. Thanks for bringing it to life for me. The Wooly Worm Festival - now that is very different,. Many of our trees are evergreens and their leaves don\'t change colour.
Hello Wanda,
The weather has finally gotten cool here too. Love, love, love it! We do live in a pretty section of the USA.
I bet that wooly worm race was fun. Sorry your daughter didn\'t win, but sure they had a blast. I\'d like to check that out one year.
Wow! Seven children! Guess your parents did need lots of help on the farm. My mom was one of fourteen and my dad was one of eleven. Would you believe that I have fifty two first cousins?!!!
The same thing happened in our family when our parents passed away. I only have two brothers, but miss them terribly. Those big family holiday celebrations were very special times!
Hugs to you and Steve!

Wanda...It is beautiful in MA right now..peak color..every day as I drive home from work I am in awe of the beauty of the colors...it snowed in the Mts. over the weekend. I think we are suppose to get our first frost tonight..I have always loved the Fall and Buddy loved the Spring because everything was coming alive as opposed to everything dying...In two weeks it will be a year since I lost my Buddy..as much as I love Fall it does have a different meaning to me now...I can just picture the mailman checking you out!! Hugs Ellen
Hi Wanda,
The NJ fall is pleasant - but today is damp and that chill runs through ya. It\'s apple & pumpkin picking time and the mums are all a bloomin\'. Thanksgiving is my holiday and this year we may be as many as 18 - I like doing it and enjoy using the dining room, the good china and silver! I also have Christmas Eve here and that is fun too. Just a little more confusion though with the decorating and gift thing going on at the same time.
Be well.
Gloria
I feel so blessed to have all of youl as friends. We each have our day to day lives but then we have each other too. God is good. Love, Wanda
Hee hee Wanda, woolly worms...EH???? Perhaps a stupid question, but, real garden worms???
I love autumn, and it\'s truly golden golden here, though a freezing cold rain today.
Love ya honey
Meriel
Wanda, what fun with the worms. I like things like that, designed just for fun. Went for a wonderful fall walk last night in the woods, great colors, leaves rustling under my feet, it was wonderful! Fifty two first cousins beats my husbands\' 36. And I had 6 first cousins...
Love, Karen
