Fall colours

I look out the window and see the beautiful colours of fall, alternating in hue as the sun shines brightly and then disappears behind the gray-white clouds of the day.  With the earthy background of pines and mosses over rocks, the vibrant yellow, orange, brown, and red leaves of the various deciduous trees and bushes present my eyes with their living canopy. A bright confirmation of stunning beauty right before my eyes if I would but stop, look, and listen.  Then the feeling within begins to bloom and I know what the emotion of gratitude is.
This emotion of gratitude helps me to climb up the scale from dark to light.  I wish I had known of or been able to recognize and feel this emotional teacher much earlier in life.
Better late than never and I am glad that I got here before the end of what is my life here on earth.  This is a gift that many cannot recognize because they just take it for granted.  For me, I simply could not see or feel joy due to the dark walls of protection I built for security as I grew up.  Looks and feels like progress to me!  Yay!  Gonna sing:  "Celebrate your life, c'mon, celebrate ............                    :)
