Experiment

For months, I have been going back and forth grieving the loss of my mother. I thought I had finally reached a place that I could begin to accept that I may never get any answers. Every avenue I try, only turns up a dead end. And when I finally find an answer to one question, it only raises more questions.
I have reached out to my aunt three different times, using three different methods of contact. Obviously she doesn't care enough to respond. I've given her the benefit of the doubt all these months. At first, I thought that maybe she DID try, but it got returned. Now that she DOES have my address, and not even the decency to drop a quick note in the mail to at least say, "Oh, I'm sorry, your mother has passed away." I understand she's grieving herself and probably still hasn't made peace with the loss of her son, but at the very least, notify the only child that your sister ever had.
Then I got the idea to try something completely out of the box. Really more of an experiment, I decided to send a letter to my mother at the address listed on the death certificate. Hopefully--whatever the outcome may be--I can finally make peace with never knowing for certain what happened. Although I'm more curious to see if and who intercepts my letter--if anyone--but if it gets returned to me, then maybe I will be able to put this "quest for information" behind me.
Only time well how it goes!
