Exercising out my depression

I've been feeling down lately... I went for a nice walk tonight. It was 65 degrees and felt great. I've been walking this bike path since I started walking at this apartment and when I first started, it would take me about 35 minutes to complete. Well, today I did it in less than 29 minutes! That made me feel proud. I may have eaten too many calories today, but it's okay... I've only been getting 1,000 calories in, so I needed the extra calories. I weighed on the scale today... 218.0! The weight is coming off and that makes me happy too. Geo and I lay in bed together and read news and other random stuff. It's our bonding time. I told Geo that he had to get me out of bed at 10 am because I'm sleeping too late. I woke up at 10:20, plenty of time to get to Zumba, but I didn't feel well so I went back to sleep. I woke up at noon and I still felt crappy, but starting my day made me feel better, so I'm not going to use "not feeling well" until I get up. eat breakfast and have my coffee. If I'm still feeling bad, then I can go back to sleep. Coffee makes me sleepy for some reason. but I feel good now. I'm mood swinging, but hopefully I can stay here at normal for a bit.

so god to hear you are feeling better! kudos on the weight loss but remember to do it the right way, not by restricting. I think that is a great idea, to get up, do your morning routine and then see how you are, just getting up and facing the day can be to much so we stay where we are. fantastic about reducing your time walking, shows great improvement and you should be proud! many hugsss, have a great day friend

Way to go on the walk and the weight. My SIL sleeps a lot during the day and since she started carb cycling(she lost 5 pounds this week) she has been waking earlier. She struggles with depression as well. i think it does your body good to wake up and get out of bed. Good plan to wait until you are up and moving to make that decision.

I agree on the getting up, dressed, coffee and then see how you feel. That is starting your day with a positive note rather laying in bed feeling negative.

hope you feel better. odd that caffeine makes you sleepy. i only know ONE other person that was like that, but his body changed and that doesn\'t happen anymore.

cool that you have bonding time. and cool that you are walking the same route 6 minutes faster. yay!
