Every Day is Filled with Fear
Our lives have taken a 180 lately. I'm so stressed out.
First I needed to fill a spot in my dayhome. That's a $550 spot. I had it filled, I held it for her for two weeks as she was getting married. The DAY before she was meant to start her child she bailed. Even though I had talked to her numerous times in those two weeks and all was still a go. That wouldn't be so bad if what was happening at Joeys work wasn't so bad.
First off, he wore a green hat. Means he managed a crew. Above him is a white hat, he manages 3-4 green hats. The whole plant can't keep up. So the white hat sent Joey to a different department to help out. While he was GONE one of his crew made a mistake. Due to his crew making an error they took away the $2/hr incentive they offer employees. Claiming Joey was responsible even though he wasn't there. He can get the incentive back in two months. So he went from $25/hr to $23/hr. Then just a few days later his white hat makes him step over to a station that isn't his and lay lino. (Back story, the white hat manages Joey, his spouse, and his brother in law). Joey messed up, he laid the wrong lino. His bad. They revoked his green hat for it and he lost another $1.50/hr. However, the green hat who normally runs the bay is the white hats COMMON LAW SPOUSE and she has made the EXACT same mistake twice and has NEVER been reprimanded, let alone demoted.
Now I'm in daily terror he comes home and tells me he's been fired. He has been there five years and never lost the incentive or been demoted. And how it all came about pisses me off so much I want to report the company. But if I put his job in any more danger and he loses it we may have to sell the house. There is no way we could make out bills if he has to take a job for $14/hr and I'm struggling to fill my spot. He wanted to go talk to the head honcho about how he got demoted for a mistake others have made with no discipline but he's worried that it will put his head on the chopping block.
My only consolation is that if he gets fired I'm getting the whole plant drug tested lol. I know almost all the top management does weed and cocaine. A bunch of the employees to weed daily and cocaine when they can afford it. I won't rest until tons of them have lost their job. It's petty, but I'm so MAD at that damn company! Five years and this is how he gets treated? He does whatever they ask him to, the only time he ever refuses overtime is when Marlow has a class or recital or something he needs to be off for, he even comes in on Saturdays when asked! He's called in sick four times in five years, he is rarely late minus when he has to have monthly blood work, and he works his ass off.
Money is just dwindling, and I have no idea how we will make ends meet. I'm looking for a weekend job but I don't really want one as that means we will have no more time as a family and the one paying the most will be Marlow.
