Epic Failure
I've taken a short break from DailyStrength to try to achieve my main New Year's resolution: conquer my trich for good. Not too surprisingly, it hasn't worked. I've started off the year with a vow to stop pulling out my lashes first (it's my biggest source of worry), and it's even worked during exam season. I tend to pull at my brows and lashes while studying or during a test, but I came up with this weird thing where I just tell myself "NO" when I reach there and it worked for about two weeks. Now I'm back to square one: pulling out lashes daily and constantly feeling awful about it. I always vow to stop, but I never manage. This is killing me on the inside, and I don't know what to do.

With the lashes, keep a fidget ball round to give your hands something "safe" to grab.
I use grab as a different way to work round the process. "No" works to stop the motion. (for two weeks, you wrote). So, now add something positive connected to "no" for the next part.
This is a multi-task process to switch your balance into a more normal response that works for you.
Best wishes!
Please don't call yourself epic failure. Negative self talk is not helpful and very harmful. Change your thinking and words to something positive. When you catch yourself running yourself down, stop yourself and change what you said into something positive instead. And the suggestion from Mid is good, to grab a fidget ball to distract you and keep your hands busy. Hang in there. xo
I agree with Trickster. Stand in front of mirror and look at your appearance until you can feel the confidence showing. That's the positive image you use to help yourself feel "you" and keep your hands moving elsewhere.
Best wishes!
