ENT
I saw the ear nose and throat dr yesterday. He said I have water behind my ear drums as a result of pred and my exasperation. The only thing he said to do is breathe steam, ( which I don't know if it will make me sob) and take afrin nose spray. He said it will take 2-4 weeks for this to pass. How miserable I am with this head all stuff up and I can not hear well.

Don\'t you just love drs? Maybe you should try a vaporizer... I sure hope you get to feeling better soon Linda... I know you are miserable. Love and prayers.
I tried a vaporizer and I found myself sob.
I am sorry... wish you could find something to help. Hugs,Arlynda
My son has always had a lot of problems with fluid in his ears. His pediatrician says that just like Sudafed can decongest your sinuses, it can help decongest ears. I imagine you cannot take Sudafed, but wonder if Coricidin HBP might help? It does not raise blood pressure....
Will keep you in my thoughts & prayers.
Linda,
I can\'t do warm steam myself, either. t also makes me SOB. Hoping you find something to ease your symptoms and that you\'ll be feeling better day by day. Perhaps what Caitsmom is suggesting?
Hugs
I\'m so sorry to hear of you hearing problems, I will keep you in my prayers And ask at work (I work in a pharmacy) if there is anything that can help you. Hugs Terry
Good Morning Linda, I know u must feel awful so hope this helps you
I had whooping cough as a child and I remembered my Mother having me lean over a cup of hot water and covering my head with a towel so I could breathe the steam. As I got older the asthma kicked in and sometimes the steam from shower helps loosen up things so you can breathe easier. Now with my COPD I find somedays when hard to breathe I get a cup of hot water with steam and breathe it. It does help me and doesnt make me sob.
Hope you feel better soon. Hugss Rita
Thank you all I will try the steam again. There are no other choices.
Thanks Terry let me know...
Linda, I have been to an ENT with problems hearing and I could tell that I had fluid around the eardrums. He doubted that the cause of my hearing problem could be that so he had a complete hearing testing done and found that my hearing capability was excellent BUT I still have a problem. He told me to take singulair each evening before bed and it does help a bit but sure would be nice to find something that helps a lot.
I have had a lifelong sinus problem and the stuffiness did not become any more pronounced after I was put on steroids so I doubt that the Pred could be the culprit. Hope you are able to find a solution as it can be so miserable.
Hugs,
Anna
