ECT #17
A lot of traffic in the ECT lab. The ECT operation was shut down for two weeks during the Xmas break and today was the first day back and everyone came in for ECT today. Waited for two hours in the waiting room and then another 90 min back in the hospital room waiting to be wheeled into the operating bay. Very frustrating.
Submitted questions to the doctor today. Got back the answers but it leads to more questions. I think it is important to know the variant of ECT that I am undergoing and be appraised of those risks and there should be a quantitative way to track side effects. I wish I knew about this before, I would have gotten my memory tested before. I got some psychoanalytical testing in Jan of 2019 maybe that can serve.
I do not like the doctor doing the ECT (Dr. Fernanadez). I am not sure she cares for the patients well and is rather short with me when asking about side effects or how I am doing. She needs to be focused on patients not turn knobs and pushing buttons when you should be talking with me.

Thor, guess the traffic was expected after the two week break. I have also found that the answers so often lead to more questions. Agree with you that there are the doctors who see diagnoses and procedures versus those who see people. Luckily, most of my docs see a person in front of them. Have had to switch a few for that very reason. In the past, it was called bedside manner. We are people, not machines. Hoping all will continue to go well. Comforting hugs
