Dreams Renewed?
I looked up some of my old journal entries here. I'm struck by this list because they are things I never thought I'd experience, things I dreamed of for years, and maybe, just maybe, they might come to life for me...
My first Valentine's Day, with a candlelit dinner, a card, and dancing in the kitchen.
A snowball fight.
Cuddling under the stars.
Chicken fights in the pool.
Tickling to old comedies.
His hand on mine at Pesach.
A real anniversary together.
Walking down the stairs in a gown, and the look on his face when he sees me.
Kissing under a snowfall.
And most of all, a black-haired little boy bumping his head while playing dinosaur, and crying inconsolably until his daddy comes to hold him.
A snowball fight.
Cuddling under the stars.
Chicken fights in the pool.
Tickling to old comedies.
His hand on mine at Pesach.
A real anniversary together.
Walking down the stairs in a gown, and the look on his face when he sees me.

I've still never had a Valentine's Date. We're going to be out this Saturday, and I am hoping it snows so we can start a snowball fight. There are stairs at the party; I'll be in a 50's gown, dressed to the nines; I am so hoping he just stares at me the whole time I'm entering the room. If something between us happens, he's Jewish; he won't be opposed to my family's Pesach Seder. And his hair is black... If we ever had a child, if we ever had a son, he'd have black hair like him.
Maybe... Maybe... But not now? I dunno. It's a dream. It's something to hope for and think about and pray the wishes come true someday.
...they probably won't.
