Dream - Validation
I was in a magical college. One day we were being judged for our personality traits. A god sat down next to me and told me, I see that you worry about this a lot. But don't worry. You have more good traits than most people. You are good. You're a good person.
I was crying uncontrollably in the dream. To be told you're undeniably good by the one who knows the ultimate truth, maybe that's all I ever wanted, though I've come to accept that no one can actually do that, and my perception of myself may always be wobbly in someway. As the man said this my friend silently took up her tray and went to sit elsewhere. I suppose this was part of the dream's story. Being told you are undeniably good by a god (though this was no one specific god) is something to be envious of. I ended the dream feeling troubled that she'd no longer talk to me.
The dream makes me think, how much I still crave validation. I want to be told I'm good, yet I feel nothing when people tell me that anymore.

Wow! There's a lot to unpack there. You know I do a specific kind of counseling and one of the things that I do with people is to have them listen for the truth about themselves or a situation. It's amazing how quickly the truth comes to their minds. I feel that it's a Divine blessing when that happens. My take on it is that when you are asleep, your defenses are down and you could "hear" the truth about yourself. Write it down. Maybe write it down over and over. Wear a piece of jewelry that you don't usually wear to remind yourself of what you heard. Yes, we call crave validation, but no human can ever fully meet that need. That's why I look deeper than the human realm to find the answers about who I am. I always say, "Never put your identity in something you can lose." You are such a dear and such a deep thinker. I affirm what you were told. You are a person of great worth. You have so much good inside you. You are radiant. Much love to you.
