don't let perfect be the enemy of the good

After I wrote the last journal, I just went about my day.

Usual stuff. I thought about 'the monastery of my mind'

as a happy thought that made me, well carried me, through the

different stuff of the day - anyways, eventually I found my mind

changing and I watched some tv - and the eventually found myself

yearning - hoping to stay relevant - just sitting here at home with Blue,

though I love him and I like to relax, the alone time still made me want to reach out to others

and find companionship - though it was oddly, I realized, a little like I was looking for perfection

and I remembered the idea - the concept - of 'not letting perfect be the enemy of the good.'

And so I got myself up and did the dishes. I will go and set my medicines out for the evening

and make my bed. Therapy is at a different time today - so I have that coming up.

I need to spend time with Blue.

I hope you guys are having a fab day. Sending good vibes - from this covid spaceship bubble

to yours.

peace,

mark

Since you still haven't talked much about your research on how to actually join a monastery, I've come to wonder if your monastic ponderings are a, "Therapy Safe Place" for you. I get allot of mileage out of my imaginary Therapy Safe Places. They give my questioning mind a creative outlet while giving my anxious nerves a place to settle.

Coronaville seems to disbanding in this neck of the wood. We still have propaganda signs everywhere, but most of us are just ignoring them alongside all the other Yankee wisdom that has invaded Texas. Still quite allot of maskites bumbling about, but they are easier to ignore than their propaganda.

thanks Arfie! The monastery of my mind has definitely been a epiphany. I can take it wherever I go
and it helps!

I’ve been sitting with Bella since getting home from work and she loves watching virtual events i sign up for with me. Alone but not alone. I hope you have had a good evening Markus.

Also, have you ever visited the Cloisters in NYC by chance?

thanks Nikki! I LOVE the Cloisters! I am from New York originally- we went as a family sometimes when I was a kid
and then I went again during college. A great place! Loved the tapestries!
Have a good night!

You can also let it take you to distant planets. I wonder what Yoda's monastery looks like. . .

My own monastic fantasies lead me to Saint Francis of Assisi who had a cave he retreated to when people were too much for him to bear, In turn, he inspired me to start building my most developed therapy safe place: The Mud Caves. I love my mud caves.
