don't know the answer right now...but reminding myself

I've been on the couch just thinking about things...trying to. :)

My therapist has said to me that it would be a good idea

for me to find somewhere additional to volunteer.

I think she's right. She also said that I should be looking to go

back to work. On that point I don't know if I agree with her.

I have a part time job. It's exhausting..but maybe she believes in me and in that I just shouldn't

limit my horizons. I am unsure.

But in terms of volunteering, I will look for volunteer stuff - would really like

to volunteer again for the Mountains Restoration Trust or the Treepeople.org.

I love stuff like that. I also like design preservation. There's an LA Conservancy

which might be something I could look into to see if they need volunteers.

The pandemic might be a hard time to find something relatively safe. The food

bank I was working with wasn't so safe (someone there had the virus!! yikes!) So I stopped

going there.

I've been reviewing this journal but I wrote the following on the first pass of writing it:

I find myself better able to piece things together here on the journal as I write

things out...

A good thing to remember.

So, I was sitting on my couch and I didn't have the answers - like no sense of self -

and so I couldn't direct myself to make any plans - but then I reminded myself of the pearl

my therapist offered once...

"What will you do to carry you through...?"

So, I decided to come on and journal

and in the process I found some answers and direction and solace.

peace and good kharma.

Just to throw out ideas, do I remember you found Blue in a nearby animal shelter? Didn't you do some volunteer work there while you were courting him? Just wondering. . .

I'd be curious to here how Blue would react to your coming home smelling like TOC. The Other Cat.

It sounds like you have some good food for thought since seeing your therapist.... Volunteer work I find really rewarding and you can often sign up for shifts with more ease and less restrictions then a full time job

I found working fulltime hard due to my medication.... I did work fulltime however I know I had too much sick time and it's really due to being too wiped out ... I'm on a pretty heavy cocktail of meds that leave me flat and tired so it can be a struggle at times

What do you think about this Mark.... Have you worked fulltime?.... How did you find it?

I know mental health professionals mean well (which I was one of) however if they've never had to deal with some of the things that are real that we deal with their opinions are somewhat limited IMHO as to what some of our struggles are

I will say staying busier can keep us out of our head's at times thus out of our own way..... Big hug .....xo

I work part time and do well, but I'd never be able to work full time. My illness is just too debilitating. I agree with Jan. Mental Health professionals just don't get it sometimes. They've never lived our illnesses and can't possibly know our limits.
